Job Description:

The Director, E-Business Development and Delivery will report to the Vice President whose organization includes Sr. Development Managers and their direct reports, who have responsibility for system design and development for various E-Business suite of applications.

Our recent and anticipated growth in E-Business demands an executive whose abilities go well beyond technology to include strong leadership, business acumen, and strategic vision combined with the ability to effectively manage technology transformation and implementation for our E-Business. Establishing new architecture and migrating legacy systems to the new architecture and technology requires not just outstanding management of the technology organization but also very strong relationships with other IT units.


The successful candidate must be a "hands on" technology operations executive with a broad range of technical skills and experience, and a proven record of successfully developing E-Business solutions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

General responsibilities

Purpose of the position — The Web Developer has responsibility and accountability for the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of Internet and custom developed business application systems for business functions enterprise-wide.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    * This individual will work closely with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify users' application requirements, and seek out and maximize opportunities to purchase/build systems based on new computing architectures (primarily Java and J2EE) that will improve business processes, support critical business strategies, and provide information access.
    * This position is responsible for development and implementation of application systems that adhere to the requirements of the business. This individual will participate and make recommendations in the decision making process in regards to requirements, cost, benefits of technical approach and design; but be primarily focused on the development, testing, and implementation of web-based applications.
    * This position will report directly to the Manager of Web Development and will work closely with Systems Operations, Architecture and other IT functional areas that enable multi-platform application development and support.
    * Participate and demonstrate task leadership qualities during the implementation of web based systems
    * Closely collaborate with the technical leads on proof of concept projects and prototype designs


Job Qualifications:

    * Java and J2EE experience is required. A background in software development and implementation including familiarity with the software development lifecycle. Java Script, HTML, XML, Websphere, C++ (not necessary but a plus), and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)
    * Working knowledge of web programming model and website technology, including: site building, administration, security and database interfacing.
    * Experience in UNIX (a plus but not necessary) and Windows operating systems, Internet architecture, relational databases (Oracle preferably)
    * Proven software development, process orientation, and package selection/implementation capabilities
    * A minimum of 2 years of Java development experience including development, implementation and maintenance of custom and purchased, web based applications; significant experience and knowledge in internet computing architectures and implementation of purchased off-the-shelf software applications
    * At least 2 years of experience in web development and execution involving multiple major concurrent development projects with a proven successful track record, including:
    * A Bachelor's degree in MIS or Computer Science or equivalent work experience
    * Successfully developed and implemented applications in new computing architecture environments (internally & externally hosted) using new and emerging off-the-shelf technologies
    * Developed innovative and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems, while managing the resources to deliver these solutions on time & under budget
    * Experience with Siebel CRM, a Content Management tool (ex. Interwoven), Comergent's eCommerce solution, Interwoven's TeamSite/OpenDeploy product suite, IBM Websphere Application Server and/or Websphere Portal Server (all a plus but not required). Experience with AJAX and DOJO also a plus.
