As our Director of Design you will lead the design efforts for Beatport's online store, sister websites, blogs, mobile and other user portals, ensuring a consistent brand identity is presented. You will also focus on the functionality needs of the Beatport web store including user purchasing, user registration, and shopping habits. Working with one other Graphic Designer, you will ensure the experience on our site is useful, usable and desirable for the customer as well as profitable for the business. You will also care for the overall brand look and feel and lead promotional design and production of marketing materials including brochures and email graphics.
This role sits on the Marketing team reporting into the VP, Marketing. However, you will work in parallel with Beatport product owners to maintain and meet schedules to ensure all interactive projects and needs are being met for the development teams.
Some of the typical job responsibilities include:
·Establish the overall strategy and approach for interactive design, design planning, user experience, best practices, standards, and guidelines for Beatport's software products
·Structure, maintain and deliver interactive design consistency across all our software design efforts
·Apply user-centered design process and collaborate with product management to create an engaging customer experience that drives the business.
·Facilitate project communication and asset exchange across a multidisciplinary team throughout all phases of projects
·Create and maintain Beatport style guide
·Manage and mentor graphic designer currently on the team
To land this job you'll need to have:
·5+ years related experience in e-commerce focused interactive design
·Demonstrated interactive design skills, careful attention to details and a solid understanding of user experience design principles and e-commerce industry standards
·Demonstrated expertise with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign as wells as Mac platform
·A portfolio to showcase your relevant talents
·A solid grasp of graphic and web design principles and good understanding of current web technologies (HTML, DHTML, CSS); working knowledge of Flash and Dreamweaver desired
·The ability to collaborate actively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

WEBSITE: CMA will be actively involved in maintaining website including: Design and optimize home page and any other marketing images on web; Cropping and optimizing product images; Swap out images based on sales and events; Organize, attend and stylize merchandise for weekly product photo shoots with SOL photographer.
SOCIAL MEDIA: Maintain SOL's brand identity on Social Networking sites including Cindy's blog, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
ORGANIZATION & DOCUMENTATION: Document all processes and procedures on an ongoing basis, and archive all marketing, advertising and direct mail material.
