Candidates' primary task will be to research, develop, and produce technical documentation, and modifications/ revisions to military Technical Manuals for satellite grounds systems for missile warning/defense programs. Must be experienced with analysis and interpretation of engineering source data, have good verbal and written skills, experience conducting customer reviews, completing validation/verification, and technical data deliveries. Must be able to thrive in a fast paced, classified, development environment within a small team. Candidate must be knowledgeable of technical publications production processes, including scheduling, research, military writing and editing conventions, graphics standards, and publishing methods; requirements to develop and coordinate technical data
delivery, approval, reproduction and delivery requirements. Candidate will create or write, format, edit, and validate technical documents to include but not limited to system design documentation, algorithm description documents, operator, and maintenance manuals (all levels). Prepare documentation for delivery on both classified and unclassified information in multiple formats including standard electronic publishing formats (Microsoft Word, Framemaker, etc.) SGML and graphic files. Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communications, or related field + 6 years of related experience. Must have current Secret DOD clearance. Directly relevant experience may be substituted for degree. Total fluency in Microsoft Word and intermediate skills with Microsoft Visio, Project, and Excel
required. Technical Writing and Editing in support of Government guidance & specifications. Ability to obtain a TS/ SCI clearance a plus. Experience with Defense Support Program (DSP), Spaced Based Infrared System (SBIRS), Joint Tactical Ground Station (JTAGS) or other missile warning/missile defense operations preferred. Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints,
engineering illustrations, and trade journals. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials.

Job Description:
As a member of the copywriting team, your primary responsibility will be writing and editing print, electronic and multimedia communications. Major Duties and Responsibilities:

* Adhere to and promote Sierra Trading Post style guidelines and SEO requirements
* Proof and edit peer copy and other company documentation

* Collaborate with designers, buyers and merchandisers to ensure creative synergy
* Complete other projects as assigned, including promotional copy for ads, scripts, guides, signs, billboards, internal publications and more
Job Qualifications:
* Entry-level experience (0-5 years) as a writer of marketing copy, preferably within an eCommerce or catalog mail-order environment
* Bachelor's or associate's degree in advertising, communications, journalism, English or other writing-intensive program
* Well-versed in editing, grammar and proofreading techniques
