Colorado Healthcare Communicators announce the Call for Entries in the 2010 Gold Leaf Awards.

Annually, Colorado Healthcare Communicators (CHC) recognizes outstanding work in public relations, marketing and communications through its annual Gold Leaf competition and awards ceremony. For more than 25 years, CHC has honored Colorado professionals who provide communication services to healthcare organizations (including advertising agencies and consultants who submit entries on behalf of a healthcare organization). With 29 categories to choose from, there is an opportunity to showcase your organization's high caliber work and achievements and be rewarded for your efforts that come from delivering solid results that help your organization succeed on every level. The Gold Leaf Awards are open to CHC members and non-members.

CHC member rate ($60 per entry; four or more entries, $55 per entry). Non-member rate ($75 per entry; four or more entries, $70 per entry).

5th Annual IP5280's Climbing for Kids

Now in its fifth year, IP5280's Climbing for Kids event will raise money for The Children's Hospital Foundation and The Kempe Foundation for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect during its annual mountain climb at 6 a.m. on August 13, 2010 at Mount Bierstadt.

After the climb, participants will meet for refreshments and a performance by the band Left Foot Green in Georgetown, CO.

The Denver Broncos Cheerleaders will host their Calendar Release Party and 2nd Annual Race to Keep Kids on Track on August 13-14, 2010 at The Track in Centennial, CO.

Educate!'s 2nd Annual Hike for Uganda

WHAT: Educate!, a Boulder and Uganda based organization that empowers the next generation of African leaders, holds the 2nd Annual Hike for Uganda, celebrating the powerful connection between Colorado supporters and Educate! students in Uganda. The money raised will go directly to support education programs in Africa and empower Educate!'s 830 students in Uganda to transform their communities.

Socialize with fellow Colorado supporters, hear updates about Educate! students' work in Uganda, and enjoy live music by the local band, Lost Angel Station. There will be coffee, bagels, snacks and refreshments.

WHO: Educate! friends will hike up Green Mountain in Boulder, Colorado while Educate! students will hike up a mountain in Kampala, Uganda--uniting forces for the same cause; empowering Uganda's youth to transform their communities by addressing poverty, disease, and environmental degradation.

Roselyn Saunders and Goodwill Industries of Denver Present Dancing for the Youth at Goodwill

Who: Roselyn Saunders, a well-connected Denver community volunteer, is teaming up with Goodwill Industries of Denver to raise awareness about and funds to support Goodwill's programming that helps more than 26,000 at-risk youth each year.

What: Nearly 1,000 guests, celebrity competitors and celebrity judges will come together for Dancing for the Youth at Goodwill, modeled after ABC's popular prime-time program, "Dancing with the Stars." An idea developed by Saunders, Dancing for Goodwill Youth will be a fun evening filled with food, lively music and a dance competition all in support of Goodwill's mission to support at-risk youth in Colorado.

The evening will kick off with cocktails and a silent auction at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and a live auction. Then the contest begins — featuring local celebrities paired with professional dancers from Robert Nardozza's Colorado Dancesport Studio. While the celebrity judges deliberate, those who purchased their evening attire from Goodwill will be eligible to enter the Best Goodwill Dressed contest for great prizes.

Tickets are $150 for individuals and $300 for a couple, and all proceeds will benefit Goodwill Industries of Denver and its youth services programs.
