Digital Asset Management Internship
Water For People

Location: Denver, CO
Industry: Nonprofit
Job Level: Entry

Company Description:
Water For People helps people in developing countries improve quality of life by supporting the development of locally sustainable drinking water resources, sanitation facilities, and hygiene education programs.

Around the world, 783 million people do not have access to safe drinking water and 2.5 billion are without adequate sanitation facilities. Every day, nearly 6,000 people who share our planet die from water-related illnesses, and the vast majority are children.

But the real failures are all the broken pumps, filled latrines, and solutions that aren't. We want to change all that. The solution? Programs that last and examine entire districts and regions rather than purely households and villages. Create solutions that last, and not only do people benefit for a long period, but organizations don't have to expend time and energy going back again and again to the same location.

Our vision is a world where all people have access to safe drinking water and sanitation, a world where no one suffers or dies from a water- or sanitation-related disease. That vision is within reach and we hope you'll join us.

Job Description:
Water For People's Marketing and Communications team is looking for a current college or graduate student who is interested in applying for an unpaid internship. Under the supervision of professional staff, an intern will gain first-hand experience by participating in regular departmental activities that range from research and special projects to cataloging digital content, photos, videos, and marketing materials related to Water For People.

The Marketing and Communications Department is responsible for the oversight and management of all digital assets in Water For People's digital asset management system, establishing metadata requirements for cataloguing of relevant digital assets within the DAM, streamlining the deployment of digital assets from the server to the DAM, overseeing the application customization and integration with other systems. We have recently on-boarded Extensis as our new DAM system.

Job Qualifications:
* Previous experience with Extensis or similar Digital Asset Management system.
* Schedule availability for 8-16 hours per week during business hours.

Salary: Unpaid Internship

Opening Date: 10/09/2012
Application Deadline: 10/17/2012

How to Apply:
Send your resume and a cover letter to careers@waterforpeople.org. Please NO phone calls or in-person visits. We will be accepting resumes until a candidate has been selected.
