What You'll Do
Newmont is looking for a dynamic and experienced Head, Communications & Branding to lead the communication strategy that aligns with and supports the company’s strategic objectives.
In this key role, you will be the expert responsible for integrating all aspects of Newmont’s strategy through effective communication. You will have the opportunity to shape and enhance the communications function, managing both internal and external communications to strengthen our brand, reputation, and sustainability efforts. Your work will engage diverse stakeholders, ensuring that our messaging aligns with our business goals and supports our long-term success.
- Shape Lead Strategic Communication: Develop and oversee a comprehensive strategy that effectively communicates Newmont’s identity and message to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with our corporate strategy.
- Enhance Brand Reputation: Drive initiatives that position Newmont as a responsible and sustainable industry leader, addressing complex socio-political landscapes and securing our license to operate.
- Engage and Align Function: Lead a direct team and influence distributed communications teams, fostering collaboration across all groups to optimize strategies, enhance engagement, and elevate the function.
- Govern and Guide Execution: Provide governance, expertise, and strategic oversight to support consistent, high-quality execution of communication initiatives at Business Unit (BU) and Functional levels.
- Drive Performance and Long-Term Success: Play a pivotal role in delivering short-term results while advancing the organization’s long-term sustainability and growth.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Graduate degree in Communications, Marketing, Media, Journalism or related field.
- Experience: Extensive expertise in global communications, brand building, and strategy alignment for diverse audiences, with preferred experience in US-based global businesses, Australia, and the energy or industrial sectors.
- Skills: Strong social presence skills, including self-awareness to manage cultural and challenging situations effectively. Skilled in collaboration, building cross-functional alliances, influencing stakeholders, and managing team dynamics through change.
- Knowledge: Expertise in strategic communications, brand management, stakeholder engagement, and multi-channel messaging. Familiarity with media tools, content management systems, and aligning corporate messaging with business objectives.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $210,000 – $250,000. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
