Colorado Academy’s Office of Advancement seeks an Events Manager with demonstrated experience with multifaceted event execution to help implement over 50 annual cross-organizational events. The position plays a key role managing and implementing the logistics of Advancement-related events, including CA’s annual fundraiser, and other signature engagement events in partnership with the Advancement team, school administration, Board of Trustees, and key volunteers. The Events Manager serves as the primary liaison with internal stakeholders, playing a critical role in fostering community, connection, and engagement among families and the CA community. As part of that, the position coordinates and represents the school with vendors and sponsors. This position plays a key role in donor relations and stewardship, interacting with donors through events and ongoing communications. The Events Manager is a full-time, year-round position and reports to the Associate Director of Stewardship and Donor relations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partners with the Director of Advancement and Associate Director of Stewardship and Donor Relations to set annual events plan and strategy to drive revenue and donor engagement.
- Collaborates with Advancement Team to develop and implement all aspects of CA’s major fundraising events, including management of event committees and strategies to meet fundraising goals.
- Manages a variety of donor cultivation and stewardship events throughout the year, including on-site and off-site events, to share CA’s impact, deepen donor relationships, and share supporter appreciation.
- Works collaboratively with other departments (Admissions, Athletics, Communications, College Counseling, Divisional Principals, etc.) outside of Advancement on CA community events, such as Admission Preview, Athletic Banquets, and CA’s SPEAK lecture series. The role will also be responsible for coordinating events in partnership with CA’s Parent Association and serves as a resource for the Horizons at CA colleagues for their annual engagement events.
- Manages vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring events are executed within budget and on schedule.
- Ensures the delivery of high-quality, mission-driven events that meet the goal and objective of campus partners and their events.
- Creates detailed event plans, including leadership speaking points and programmatic details, provides final event reports and conducts post-mortem event analysis to make recommendations for the future.
- Contributes to a collaborative team environment by assisting Advancement team members in their roles as needed.
- Collaborates closely with CA’s catering staff and operations teams to ensure events run smoothly.
- Fosters collaborative, kind, and respectful relationships with colleagues, positively contributing to CA’s culture.
- Partners with Advancement Associate and Advancement Database Manager to ensure data and attendee lists from events are tracked in our Raiser’s Edge database in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrated event planning and project management experience, and building a core of volunteers; preferred experience in working within an educational environment.
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage volunteers effectively.
- Excellent organizational, planning and problem-solving skills; must be detail-oriented and adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to articulate the School’s mission and priorities.
- Experience working with volunteers; has ability to recruit, train, and manage parent volunteers and volunteer committees.
- Ability to work effectively, collaboratively and professionally with diverse groups of people at all levels within an organization required.
- Experience in managing event budgets, ensuring that expenses are documented and submitted timely.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Google Sheets and Workbook, and the ability to learn new technologies; knowledge of and experience with GiveCampus and Raiser’s Edge a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours to support evening and weekend events as required.

The pay for this position is $68,000 – $80,000. Although this is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any wage differential that may exist for the position does not relate to sex, gender or gender identity, but relates solely to a seniority system, a merit system, or relevant education, training and/or experience. Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance benefit programs are available, as is a 403(b) retirement plan. Eligibility for all benefit programs is defined by the applicable plan document.
