The Center for Improving Value in Health Care (CIVHC) is an independent non-profit that equips partners and communities in Colorado and across the nation with the resources, services and unbiased data needed to improve health and health care. As the designated administrator of Colorado’s All Payer Claims Database (CO APCD), CIVHC oversees the collection of health care claims from Colorado’s public and private health care insurers and uses that information to promote price transparency, inform policy, advance health equity, conduct research, and much more. We are objective, solution-oriented, and maintain the highest integrity in the work we do.

Job Summary:

CIVHC’s Key Account Managers serve as the main point of contact for CIVHC data licensing partners with data and reporting needs.  The position is focused on maintaining and expanding strategic relationships with key accounts and serving as a subject matter expert for targeted market segments.  This includes, but is not limited to, hospitals and health systems, academic research institutions, health insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, biosciences, and employers interested in understanding health care costs. 

Key Account Managers collaborate closely with colleagues in the Data Access and Impact Department as well as teams across CIVHC to ensure a positive customer experience and the accurate, timely delivery of high-quality products and services. Because CIVHC’s products and services often have lead times of several months, Key Account Managers play a critical role in building strong relationships and setting clear expectations with customers. We are seeking a collaborative, motivated, and inquisitive individual to help manage and expand our pipeline, strengthening our ability to advance CIVHC’s mission.

Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Acquire a deep understanding of customer claims data needs and analytic requirements.
  • Serve as the link of communication between customers and internal teams.
  • Play an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-term partnerships, including expanding contacts and identifying decision-makers.
  • Expand existing relationships through identification of new data needs and development of client-specific solutions in collaboration with Data Impact and Data Solutions teams.
  • Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and manage complaints to maintain trust.
  • Present information about CIVHC programs and services at conferences and other meetings articulating the value CIVHC provides, including product and service offerings.
  • Utilize Salesforce to manage material facts, conversations, and decisions related to each assigned account and related opportunities.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual account growth targets.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public health, public policy, statistics, or related field of study. Master’s degree preferred. Six years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in hospitals, health systems, health insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, biosciences, digital health, and/or academic institutions with a focus on health care research.

Physical Requirements: Primarily computer-based work with extended periods of sitting, typing, and concentration. May occasionally require light lifting of office materials.

  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Using a computer and keyboard for typing and data entry.
  • Reaching and stretching to access files or equipment.
  • Lifting and carrying light objects such as papers or office supplies.
  • Walking short distances within the office environment.
  • Operating office equipment such as printers, copiers, and fax machines.
  • Occasionally bending or stooping to retrieve items from lower shelves or cabinets.
  • Maintaining good posture to prevent discomfort or strain.
  • Using a telephone or headset for communication.
  • Ability to focus and concentrate for prolonged periods.

Position Timeline:

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $85,000 – $95,000 annually, based on relevant experience, education, and internal equity.
