Faculty Lecturer ALP Secondary Education (0.5 FTE)

The School of Education is seeking applicants for a temporary, part-time (0.5 FTE) faculty position for the Alternative Licensure Program (ALP). The temporary faculty for the Alternative Licensure Program (ALP) will teach ALP 1 candidates the prescribed post-baccalaureate secondary education program. This 10-month temporary faculty member will also coach each candidate in accordance with the Colorado Teacher Quality Standards and assist each candidate in becoming an effective classroom teacher.

The successful applicant must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population.

Tenure/tenure-track Beverage Management/Hospitality Faculty Coordinator

The successful candidate will:
• Teach 6-to-9 credit hours per semester (Fall and Spring), which may include teaching evening and/or online classes. The position requires teaching hospitality courses at the undergraduate level (which may include Brewery Operations, Wine Fundamentals, Sensory Quality Analysis, Beverage Promotions, Beer Styles & Service, Beer & Spirits, Beers of the World, Bar/Beverage Operations, Homebrewing & Fermentation, etc.). This position is responsible for cultivating a rich learning environment for industry-bound students and those students who wish to pursue graduate studies.
• The candidate will effectively integrate technology and applied learning into course work, applied research, and advising.
• The candidate will also be given a 3-to-6 credit release each semester for the administrative responsibilities of leading the Brewery Operations degree. This position is intended to be a 9-month appointment with the opportunity for regular summer administrative duties (for extra compensation) related to the administration of the Brewery Operations degree.

The School of Hospitality houses four degree programs, including the one-of-a-kind Brewery Operations degree as well as a Beverage Management minor, and proudly provides a robust educational experience that balances critical thinking, operational knowledge, and industry preparation. The successful candidate will cultivate industry relationships, facilitate the Beer Industry Council advisory meetings, market the program to the beverage and hospitality industry, and implement industry professional trainings. The candidate will develop and implement the degree’s short and long-term goals in alignment with the University and School’s vision, mission, and values. This includes being tasked with evaluating the feasibility of a cash-funded, industry-focused beverage management or beer certificate (or series of levels for the certificate), both for-credit and not-for-credit.
