Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Passionate about changing social norms around sexual assault; and comfortable writing and speaking about this issue
  • Excellent written communication skills; ability to learn and write about nuanced and complex subjects
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations or related field
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing/communications  
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign strongly preferred
  • Experience working with CMS platforms/websites (Firespring)
  • Experience with using Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for business purposes
  • Experience with creating email communications, experience with a mass email tool helpful (Bloomerang)
  • Organized and self-directed, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience crafting communications to nonprofit donors a plus

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Creating and maintaining strategic organizational marketing plan
  • Managing website
  • Managing and growing social media presence to broaden our reach and impact
  • Tracking and analyzing website and social media analytics
  • Crafting compelling marketing materials that help drive community awareness and financial support
  • Leading all content development by writing, editing & designing newsletters, event materials, fundraising solicitations, annual report, handouts, press releases, media advisories, blog posts and more as necessary
  • Collaborating with other local governments & agencies to promote citywide & statewide campaigns
  • Representing The Blue Bench at community events
