Job Description: 

Role: Help promote, publicize and advance the League of Women Voters of Colorado’s (LWVCO) mission, services and activities.

Purpose: To assist and provide creative support for the League’s internal and external communication efforts through all communication channels, including print, social media, imagery and video.

Areas of Responsibility
  • Manage, write and distribute internal communications (memos, announcements, reports etc.), including coordinating the production and distribution of the monthly e-newsletter
  • Manage and provide content for the League’s website and social media, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube
  • Draft content for use in print, TV, radio and digital media as appropriate
  • Develop media list, track relevant news and maintain media sources
  • Develop and manage style guides and digital resources
  • Collaborate and manage relationships with other League content providers
  • Assist in the production and distribution of special LWVCO publications, annual reports, brochures and other marketing materials
  • • Degree in communications, PR or journalism
  • • 2-3 years of experience as a communications specialist or related field
  • • Demonstrated skills in writing and editing, including the ability to create content for a variety of audiences and communication channels
  • • Experience working with email marketing platforms, websites and social media including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and more
  • • Experience in project or account management
  • • Ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups
  • • Experience in media relations
  • • Digitally savvy with strong problem-solving skills
  • • Interest in public affairs and the political process preferred

Part-time contract position, approx. 10 flexible hours per week, with some time at office located on Capitol Hill. Competitive salary.
