Job Summary:
The Downtown Boulder Partnership (DBP) seeks a full-time Event Coordinator to assist in the planning and execution of events under the direction of the Vice President of Events & Membership.  The Coordinator will play a key role in planning, operations, logistics, budgets and marketing support for all DBP signature events.   

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain internal guidelines and procedures for events
  • Solicit performers, vendors and other contractual entities for events
  • Oversee execution of all logistical elements at each signature event
  • Oversee post-event retrospectives – providing clear objectives and evaluation measures to ascertain successes and areas of improvement for each event
  • Responsible for volunteer and seasonal intern recruitment and management
  • Model teamwork, collaboration and organization values – will work closely with others in the organization, as well as with businesses throughout the downtown district
  • Provide support with ongoing updates to event websites, as well as update all local and regional
  • Other duties as assigned by the VP of Events & Membership

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Highly organized with very effective time management skills and attention to detail
  • Collaborative team player who is proactive with great initiative
  • Proficient with MS Office Products (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
  • Some experience with Adobe Photoshop preferred, but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to supervise and manage project teams including staff and volunteers
  • Ability to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends)
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Strong relationship building, conflict resolution and mediation skills
  • Frequently moves boxes and other event supplies weighing up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to generate creative ideas and solutions
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on issues in a timely manner

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution
  • 1 – 3 years related experience in event management and/or production
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position
