Description

Crocs is seeking a Global Public Relations Manager to drive brand and product presence in media within the US, while also serving as the global lead for regional localization and execution of global strategy in key marketplaces around the world.  The ideal candidate is a seasoned PR professional with a proven track record of driving positive, impactful media coverage for consumer brands and their products, has deep experience managing agencies, and is a natural collaborator when working with cross-functional partners and teams. The position will live within the Global Marketing Team and reports to the Director of Global Marketing Communications.

 

The Global Public Relations Manager has primary oversight responsibilities surrounding the development and execution of impactful and globally scalable media relations strategies and programs that effectively support brand objectives.  Formulates, crafts and executes annual PR plans that generate positive news coverage and amplify storytelling around brand, consumer and product initiatives.  Develops PR programs that align with, amplify, and accelerate marketing campaigns. Supports global marketing teams in adoption and localization of strategy for regional execution.  Serves as the subject matter expert in media relations; in partnership with marketing leadership provides thoughtful guidance and recommendations to cross-functional and executive partners.  Offers council during crisis and provides official company statements and communications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Effective development and management of global PR strategies that will make a material impact on brand perception and product desirability, including:

    • Ongoing, seasonal product news engine

    • Support of marketing campaigns and programs

    • Brand and company initiatives

  • Drives all company PR efforts including management of press outreach, media events, media calls, interviews, and execution of marketing campaigns within the PR space

  • Leads management of PR agency partners: drives status calls and project tracking, oversees budget, manages priorities, effectively communicates status and plans to internal stakeholders

  • Creates comprehensive PR activation plans, materials and calendars to support strategies, product launches, events, and initiatives; coordinates with regional teams to localize and execute within their own markets

  • Leads internal cross-functional team for crisis communication as needed; exhibits a high level of professionalism and discretion at all times

  • Serves as primary point of contact for media inquiries

  • Provides strategic council, input, and recommendations for marketing and cross-functional teams as it relates to media opportunities and media relations

  • Facilitates media training sessions

  • Actively monitors Crocs and more macro media trends in footwear and related categories.

  • Identifies threats, opportunities and other happenings across key competitors

  • Provides continuous measurement and analysis of PR effectiveness including ROI to guide delivery of actionable optimization recommendations to improve performance and drive growth

  • Works collaboratively with marketing operations and creative teams to ensure processes and strategies align with key production and activation milestones

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong project management and cross-functional team leadership skills including organizational skills, project planning abilities, timeline management, results-orientation and interpersonal skills

  • Solid business acumen skills

  • BS or BA in communications, public relations, business marketing or related field.MBA or other advanced degree highly desired

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of PR experience with a proven track record in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Footwear industry experience is a strong plus

  • Excellent communication abilities, written and verbal; internal and external

  • Ability to lead global teams in development and execution of global strategies.

  • International media experience desired

  • Ability to participate in and build effective teams, both within the marketing department and cross-functionally with product, merchandising and legal

  • Requires thorough knowledge of general marketing and PR principals

  • Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task and prioritize duties, operates with sense of urgency

  • Advanced analytical skills, ability to translate complex data and trends into actionable strategy

  • Ability to develop, manage and improve upon process

  • Demonstrates consumer centricity and experience as well as passion for product and brand building

  • Ability to solve problems and take initiative

  • Strong organizational skills and (in partnership with manager) ability to prioritize workload
