Job Description: 

The Manager of Special Events and Stewardship will act as an integral part of the Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) Development team. Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations and Operations, this position is crucial to the overall event and stewardship strategy of PPRM. This position will plan numerous fundraising events throughout the year, provide a high level of stewardship to multiple levels of donors, and work closely with stakeholders, both internal and external, to achieve set fundraising goals. This position is salaried, exempt.

Areas of Responsibility
  • Meet fiscal year fundraising goals for PPRM.  Assist in development and implementation of strategic and operational plans to achieve short- and long-term development goals; work as a development team member to create and adhere to strategic plan and annual budget.
  • Create, update, and implement a donor stewardship program that increases donor retention and giving.  Create a multi-leveled program designed to deliver customized stewardship plans for various levels of donors.
  • Work closely with major gift officers to ensure the plans are effective, aligned with donor needs, and properly executed.
  • Develop and implement annual and long-term strategies for special events including stewardship events and revenue generating events across the region, with the purpose of properly stewarding existing donors, diversifying PPRM’s donor base, and ultimately strengthening the organization’s financial base.
  • Oversee all fundraising and stewardship event details and logistics across the region; including sponsorship levels and goals.
  • Coordinate activities with development volunteers, and act as liaison between committee volunteers and other staff.
  • Conduct evaluation and analysis processes to measure the success and efficacy of fundraising events, stewardship events, and the stewardship program.
  • Serve as a resource for regional development staff on planning, implementing and evaluating events.
  • Help identify potential donors through special events and other means, and help prioritize said donors for major gift officers.
  • Schedule and coordinate, and occasionally participate in, face-to-face stewardship meetings or activities with major donors through visits with appropriate development staff, other program staff, and/or key volunteers.
  • Support the team environment with ideas and skills as required by team direction including but not limited to editing/proofing and writing of other written materials as appropriate.
  • Support agency wide objectives through, but not limited to visibility events, and by participating on task forces and committees.
  • Participates in abortion services (participation can include referrals, information, education, counseling, performing, scheduling, etc.)
  • Enthusiastic and dedicated team player.
  • Ability to support PPRM’s mission.
  • Multiple years of resource development experience (or related) with increasing responsibility over time.
  • Proven ability to plan, implement, and evaluate special events (both stewardship and revenue producing).
  • Experience in program evaluation.
  • Experience with donor stewardship planning and implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with donors and/or prospects.
  • A creative thinker with excellent speaking and writing skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with external and internal constituencies.
  • Must possess intuitive communication and listening skills to establish and build relationships.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours with some evenings and weekends. Willing/able to travel.
