Strategy Directors are a critical combination of doer, thinker & leader – as an individual contributor they are responsible for uncovering core insights from all research conducted, in order to deliver strategically sound marketing approaches, develop positioning and branding strategies, as well as creating strategic and tactical employee activation, sales enablement and b2b marketing plans. At the same time, they are looked to as a strategic leader – using their deep understanding of our client’s business, the industry, and the customer (sales or employee-based) perspective. They bring key insights, best practices and strategic recommendations to their sr. account partners – helping to drive the success of the account, co-developing the overall strategic approach, and identifying opportunities to grow and add value to the client’s business. Internally, they develop and sustain strong collaborative relationships with account and creative teams, as well as with Ogilvy network partners.
Client Consulting/Business Development
Strategic consultant to clients – understands their business, market trends, cultural challenges and competitive landscape and uses that knowledge to educate internal teams and inform innovative solutions that foster strong valued partnerships with clients. Understands clients’ current position within the industry, making adjustments to strategy based on changing market conditions, providing on-going, proactive relationship value to clients.
Deep understanding of Ogilvy 360 capabilities and Ogilvy Employee Experience value proposition, in order to identify opportunities and help convert them to compelling innovative solutions.
Excellent ability to act effectively as a “sales advocate” to sell in recommended strategies and implementation plans (research, marketing and marcom) with clients.
Consistent ability to identify, develop and escalate and/or successfully sell new opportunities within existing accounts.
Actively develops strong and successful relationships both internally and externally. Successful in developing strong bonds with internal creative and account teams as well as externally with clients and Ogilvy partners. Able to work collaboratively with strategy peers.

Ability to develop and deliver strategically sound solutions for positioning the business/product lines, as well as GTM strategies, including short- and long- term strategies.

Work with Account Director to develop account plans that specify key strategies/objectives, roadmaps, success metrics and resources to meet client goals
Help drive specific project strategies. Develop and present findings and recommendations as needed for all strategic engagements
Review approaches and statements of work for strategic engagements
Actively Participate in or Lead Client Interaction/Meetings: 30%
Drive and facilitate marketing consulting engagements and strategic review sessions (may include messaging workshops, employee activation input sessions, sales enablement planning or general business consulting).
Attend and participate in key client strategy sessions.
Lead Discovery Process: Marketing Research, Analysis and Planning: 20%
Review and synthesize client background materials
Recommend research approach and execute on that approach, as appropriate. Manage third-party research vendor when required for social, qualitative or quantitative research
Conduct primary research including one-on-one interviews (Sales, stakeholder, customer, etc.), competitive research assessments, trend and market research
Support Internal Marketing Initiatives: 5%
Support internal marketing projects, including messaging, IMC planning and content creation, and thought leadership initiatives.
Perform research for marketing initiatives including, but not limited to, target audience research, market size estimates, general market and competitive research, and preliminary revenue models.
Participates in department team sharing and learning opportunities to build overall skill set, approach and offerings.
Develop and strive to achieve annual individual objectives aligned with established company objectives.
Identify key education and skills building opportunities to enhance Ogilvy’s strategic offerings.

Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, Advertising or related area
10+ years of experience in marketing strategy, sales enablement, B2B content strategy or related area
Demonstrated experience in research, account planning, strategic plan development, facilitation, and delivering high quality findings and corresponding strategic recommendation
Deep understanding of different forms of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and expert knowledge of when and how to apply them to a given client challenge
Ability to quickly understand sales, marketing, communication, creative and technical situation
Strong understanding of measurement, measurement systems and reporting tools.
Experience with technical or more complex B@B accounts
Ability to develop, articulate and substantiate Leopard’s POV on all strategic engagements
Excellent communication skills, including ability to work with senior executives, develop insights, synthesize into recommendations, present findings, and facilitate client workshops
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate across agency disciplines, with Ogilvy and the client
Strong leadership skills
