The Sales Support Specialist supports the Industry Segment Team in achieving monthly and annual sales targets.  S/he assists the Director of Industry and team in the updating and tracking of metrics while identifying opportunities for process improvements for the Industry Team. A cross functional position, the Sales Support Specialist collaborates with many different teams across AORN (Association of periOperative Registered Nurses) as well as interacting with our external customers as needed. The Sales Support Specialist will manage reports from, qualify and track leads, create quotes and agreements, provide customer support and resolve customer issues, and support the full sales lifecycle.


Sales Support

  • Assists with keeping, the customer relationship management software system, updated
  • Develops and is responsible for lead management and loading contacts in
  • Maintains price list and information for all current and newly developed product offerings on the web page
  • Assists in the preparation of proposals, quotes and contracts for potential Industry customers
  • Assists Industry team with new customer setup and any associated issues
  • Implements and takes lead on CPQ in for the Industry Team
  • Maintains all quote documentation with accurate pricing in
  • Runs reports on year-round workshops and provides updates to Industry partners with attendee lists.
  • Collaborates with the marketing and content development teams on collateral and promotional initiatives
  • Works with the marketing team to maximize Industry exposure at Expo, conventions and tradeshows
  • Works with the sales team and our key accounts to maximize sales and their customer experience
  • Provides outstanding customer support, assisting with urgent and escalated customer support requests, and effectively troubleshooting and resolving customer issues
  • Works with Sales assistant and monitors distribution partner sales and royalty payments
  • Works with internal departments to ensure and communicate industry funded events are executed according to agreed upon terms and time commitments.
  • Assists with the creation of Mastery Reports as needed
  • Assists with B2B software testing and conversion for the Industry Team
  • Available to assist with other sales and sales support efforts as needed by the Industry team


  • Bachelor’s degree, and/or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 4 years in a sales support role, including experience resolving complex and escalated customer issues.


  • Strong data management experience including data entry, maintenance and reporting
  • Prior experience working in a sales support role preferred
  • Experience with or other CRM systems highly desired
  • Familiarity with the Industry sales cycle and AORN products and services is helpful

  • Strong proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel; experience with Tableau a plus

Working Conditions:
Works at a desk in a non-smoking office environment, using a computer, telephone and other office equipment daily.   Attendance at scheduled meetings as required.  Ability to travel as needed to support departmental and Association functions.
