Cat Care Society (CCS) was founded in 1981 and operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on improving the quality of life for homeless, injured and abused cats in the Denver metropolitan area. CCS operates a cage-free, limited admission shelter and adoption center for felines, and a full-service veterinary clinic for cats that is open to the public. CCS offers adoption, counseling, humane education, and community outreach services to enrich the lives of people and cats.
The CCS provides shelter to approximately 75 cats and kittens until an appropriate and permanent home can be found. Veterinary care, premium diet and human interaction are lovingly provided. We have 8 full-time and 18 part-time dedicated employees and approximately 120 committed volunteers that work tirelessly to provide services to the cats and community.
The Cat Clinic at the Cat Care Society is an onsite full-service feline only veterinary clinic that provides routine medical examinations, diagnostics, dentistry, vaccinations, spay/neuter services, and general surgery at cost effective prices. The clinic is committed to providing the highest quality care for shelter and community felines. During the last year, we have expanded our veterinary services to include extended hours and we hope to continue this expansion.
CCS is supported by a number of loyal members and contributors. Revenue is provided through fundraising, donations, and some service revenue such as adoption fees. We receive no government funding. Fundraising activities include our bi-annual Tails of the Painted Cats Gala Dinner & Auction, Meow Mart, Santa Paws Festival, Colorado Gives Day, and much more.
