Colorado AFL-CIO

The Colorado AFL-CIO represents 185 affiliate unions, whose membership totals more than 130,000 working Coloradans. The Colorado AFL-CIO is dedicated to organizing working people in the State of Colorado; to securing and protecting dignity and equality, rights and benefits, and to raising the standard of living and quality of life for all working people and their families.

Our mission is to promote organized labor, to educate our members and the public about the labor movement, and to encourage the active involvement of all of our members in their communities.

To this end, we are committed to providing the guidance and assistance necessary so that the voices of working people are heard and understood in all political and public forums. As a federation, we will coordinate with local unions and their members, our activities, energies and resources to exercise our rightful influence at our places of work; to pursue our interests in our communities and to empower all working people across the State of Colorado.

The vision of the Colorado AFL-CIO is a world where working people share in the prosperity of their communities and benefit from the fruits of their labor. It is a world where all working people have a right to a job at a living wage with dignity, safety and justice in their work place and a retirement with a secure pension: a world where the needs of every
family are met and every worker has access to the training and education necessary to compete in this global economy. It is a world where there is equality and opportunity for all.

Our vision is one of a truly democratic society where every voice is heard without regard to wealth or position; where unity and solidarity is our banner and where an injustice to one is an injustice to all.
