Peer Assistance Service

PAS was founded in 1984 with $300 in start-up funds from the Colorado Nurses Association to serve nurses with substance abuse issues. Services have been expanded to include intervention with a wider range of licensed professionals including dentists, pharmacists, mental health practitioners, veterinarians and other at-risk working adults. PAS has also expanded services to include substance abuse prevention programming with strategies aimed at at-risk populations. SBIRT in Colorado focuses on training and technical assistance for health care providers and public awareness of substance use as a health issue.
