Summary

The Colorado Tennis Association (CTA – also known as USTA Colorado) is pleased to announce an opening for a part-time Accounting Manager. This position will manage the day-to-day accounting activities of the CTA and the Colorado Youth Tennis Foundation (CYTF) and coordinate the annual consolidated audit and preparation of 990 tax returns. The position reports to the Executive Director.

Description

CTA/USTA Colorado is the governing body for tennis in the state and an affiliate of the U.S. Tennis Association.  A 501 (c) 4 organization, the CTA partners with the CYTF, which is a 501 (c) 3 charitable foundation.  Both organizations believe that the sport of tennis promotes the health and well-being of individuals and strengthens communities statewide.

The Accounting Manager works closely with the Executive Director and staff to support accurate and transparent financial practices.

Accounting & Human Resources:

  • Maintain each organization’s general ledger in Quickbooks Online
  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records using an accrual-based accounting system, ensuring revenues and expenses are recorded in the proper periods and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Issue timely and accurate financial statements, including annual budgets and forecasts
  • Maintain up-to-date vendor records and issue annual 1099s
  • Handle human resource functions such as PTO tracking and benefits administration
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Provide other financial analysis as needed

Audit and Compliance:

  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, organizing and maintaining financial records and supporting documentation for the annual audit
  • Prepare audit schedules, respond to auditor inquiries, and provide detailed explanations of transactions and systems as needed
  • Track and renew the organizations’ insurance policies including Directors & Officers, general liability, and workers’ compensation. Maintain certificates of insurance and ensure timely renewals
  • Maintain and organize both digital and paper files, ensuring accessibility, consistency, and compliance with document retention policies
  • Stay up-to-date on fiduciary responsibilities and relevant compliance issues

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in non-profit bookkeeping
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office
  • Accounting or finance degree preferred but will consider experience in lieu
  • Must be extremely detail oriented and self-motivated
  • A background check will be required

The environment is a hybrid setting, working as needed in our Denver office located in Cherry Creek (free parking).  The position is eligible to participate in the Simple IRA retirement plan with a 3% employer match, and in the life and disability insurance plans.  The role is not eligible for health or dental insurance benefits.

The salary range for this part-time role starts at $45,000, compensation commensurate on experience.  Preferred start in March 2026, but willing to consider an earlier time frame.
