The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $89,144.00 – $147,088.00. Our starting salary range is $89,144.00 – $118,116.00/year, based on experience and education.

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a city site and/or in the community several days a week.  In this position you can expect to work on site at least two days a week at the Republic Plaza at 370 17th Street, Denver, CO 80202. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

What You’ll Do

At the Department of Housing Stability (HOST), we are committed to support Denver residents as healthy, housed and connected. We invest resources, create policy, and partner with various organizations to help keep residents in the homes that they already live in, quickly resolve an experience of homelessness, and connect residents to new housing opportunities. To support these efforts, the department helps to:

  • Stabilize residents at risk of involuntary displacement and connect residents to housing resources such as home repairs, rent and utility assistance, and legal support.
  • Support residents experiencing a crisis and connect them to housing, shelter and other services to get stabilized quickly.
  • Create and preserve existing affordable housing and connect residents at any income level to new housing opportunities through programs such as down-payment assistance or counseling services.
  • Support financial services, contracting and procurement, data analysis and strategic planning, administrative resources, and communications across the housing continuum.

The All In Mile High division leads HOST’s unsheltered homelessness response, including program implementation supporting the citywide goal of bringing 2,000 people off the streets by December 31, 2024. The division was established to sustain the All in Mile High system, to provide a foundation for serving many more people well into the future, and to help persons experiencing unsheltered homelessness to come indoors and become housed residents. The division administers Denver’s new shelter alternative system, including several hotel shelters and micro-communities, tailored specifically for getting people off the streets and onto a pathway to housing stability. This position will report to the Deputy Director of the All in Mile High division.

Specifically, as the Assistant Director of All In Mile High Operations you will:

  • Execute high level operational functions for the All In Mile High division at HOST including operations, budgeting, contracting, facilities management, and project management.
  • Be responsible to develop, own, and execute the workplan related to the City-Wide goal to bring people indoors from Unsheltered Homelessness.
  • Manage the ins and outs of the All In Mile High division’s and Housing and Sheltering Programs in order to best deliver upon our goals. Working with contractors to deliver housing outcomes aligned to City-wide goals.
  • Focus on partnerships and communication. Convene meetings and work collaboratively with high level leaders within HOST, other city agencies, and external partners.
  • Oversee and document planning and operations from internal/external stakeholder meetings to ensure follow up steps are clearly communicated to all stakeholders and completed on-time.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that All In Mile High facilities are managed and maintained according to the highest standards.
  • Work closely with the Deputy Director of the All In Mile High Division and other members of the Division’s leadership team to implement the strategy and goals of the division.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex and high-profile projects, meeting deadlines and producing deliverables.
  • Municipality experience operating within local government’s budget and contracting process.
  • Strong interest in working with diverse organizations and communities.
  • Experience managing a team of leaders, ownership and responsibility of collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, which includes MS Teams and Excel.

 

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in a related field based on a specific position(s).
  • Experience Requirement: Seven (7) years’ experience performing full performance professional level duties within a specialized, functional area. (This does not include clerical experience.)
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
