Position: Business Development Manager, CompanyWeek

Description: CompanyWeek, media voice of the Rocky Mountain manufacturing economy and recently expanded to California, is looking for a Business Development manager to drive advertising sales and event and content revenue for our growing business-to-business media platform.  

The Business Development Manager will lead revenue development in three primary areas:

  1. Digital ad sales for CompanyWeek’s family of weekly and monthly e-newsletters and the online content hub at www.companyweek.com.

      3. CompanyWeek California

      4. BreweryWeek (vertical industry-specific newsletter)

      2. Manufacturing Economic Development Summit, California, Winter, 2019

      3. Monthly and quarterly Internet TV, streaming

A great candidate will offer the following:

  • Three-plus years of media sales, event management, or product marketing experience with exposure to digital media

  • Comfort level with regional business concepts and an interest in business-to-business news, topics and media

  • Self-starter and proven ability to operate independently to meet specific sales and business development objectives

  • Ability to work from home office or remote location for first six months

  • Highly motivated by a ground-floor opportunity — an entrepreneur and builder who seeks compensation rewards beyond salary-plus-commission

  • Ability to travel intermittently to CA, UT, AZ

An ideal candidate would also:

  • Have a passion for one or more of the industries reshaping U.S. manufacturing — like beer and distilling, outdoor industry, apparel, natural and organic food, aviation and aerospace, etc. — or, for technology transforming our work and play

  • Have a perspective on why making things domestically, closer to home, matters

  • Have been part of media or marketing teams that have made profound connections with reader and user communities

  • Understand why content is always the arbiter of success in media

  • Be energized, not demoralized, by adversity
