$43.04 – $49.92 Hourly
$3,443.08 – $3,993.23 Biweekly
$7,460.00 – $8,652.00 Monthly
$89,520.00 – $103,824.00 Annually
The Office of Government, Policy and Public Relations (GPPR) is CDLE’s in-house Communications, policy, and creative team made up of a diverse group of individuals. We advance CDLE’s external communications to our customers and stakeholders through public relations and community outreach, marketing, print and web design, policy, research and government affairs. We're communications experts, and our daily work consists of helping CDLE establish and maintain lines of communication and understanding between the Department and its various “publics,” including the Legislature, the Governor, the press and the citizens of Colorado. We support CDLE’s employee engagement through innovative and fun employee communication channels that promote employee events, activities and initiatives. This work unit exists to provide legislative, policy and communications services for all divisions within CDLE, with special attention to the Division of Unemployment Insurance, and Division of Family and Medical Leave Insurance. It assists with the establishment and maintenance of lines of communication, acceptance and cooperation between CDLE and its various stakeholders and constituencies, including state, local and national media. We are writers, fashionistas, strategists, legal and policy experts, soccer fans, cyclists, news correspondents, designers, videographers, technology enthusiasts, pop culture and history buffs, runners, dog lovers and more. This position will be dedicated to the Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) Division, one of the newest additions to CDLE. GPPR supports the FAMLI Division through policy development and strategic communications as it does for the Department’s seven other divisions and four special offices.
The FAMLI Communications Manager exists to set strategy as well as to design and implement strategic communication initiatives for the FAMLI Division. The position will supervise three Communications Strategists dedicated to the FAMLI Division who are responsible for developing marketing and communications related content and oversee all content development for the Division’s communications channels.
As the FAMLI Communications Manager, the position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication plans. The leader of the FAMLI Communications Team, the position oversees the drafting, compiling, editing, and finalizing the internal and external communications and marketing collateral, and manages the tasks that support the development of these materials. This position is responsible for maintaining clear alignment of messaging, identifying the appropriate audience, and coordinating all communications to ensure timely sharing of information while avoiding under or over communication frequency with the ability to communicate effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Only:
Seven (7) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position to include: Strategic/Organizational/Crisis Communications, Marketing, Organizational Change Management, Public Relations, and Community Engagement.
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to seven (7) years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (read, write, speak) in both English & Spanish.
- Experience working in state or local government.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, including building relationships with different levels of government, external organizations, and influencers.
- Experience in developing and implementing integrated paid media campaigns.
- Experience building and managing segmented stakeholder lists and databases.
- Experience facilitating virtual and in-person presentations to a variety of internal and external audiences.
- Understanding of Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Cloud, Social Media, GovDelivery, Sendgrid and Digital Marketing Tools.
- Understanding of EDIA principles and the importance of effective communications in reaching hard-to-reach communities.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and be adaptable to changing assignments.
- Familiarity with Colorado's media and political landscape.
- Experience performing similar duties as a State of Colorado classified employee.
