Nature of Work:
As part of the Rapids Community Relations department, the Community Relations Manager’s role will be to manage key Colorado Rapids community relations initiatives including, but not limited to community & charity events, sponsored programming activations, donation requests, community pride ticket donations, autograph signings, player appearances and Little Rapids Kids Club.
Examples of work performed:
- Manage the Community Relations calendar and distribution to key stakeholders
- Work with Partnership Marketing to schedule sponsored programming activations including, but not limited to, youth clinics, school visits and gameday recognitions
- Oversee Little Rapids Kids Club memberships and fulfillment
- Support Kroenke Sports Charities with all signature events and community activations
- Oversee the Colorado Rapids participation in MLSWORKS initiatives such as Greener Goals, Soccer for All, and Mental Health Awareness
- Assist the Events Department with annual club events such as the Season Kickoff Party, Watch Parties, Meet the Team Party and A Burgundy Affair
- Schedule and manage autograph signings
- Schedule and attend all player appearances
- Vet and fulfill donation requests
- Manage Colorado Rapids ticket donations as part of the Community Pride Ticket Program
- Manage the Season Ticket Member ticket donation program
- Oversee all gameday sales and online auctions
- Assist Match Presentation as a stage manager on gamedays as needed
- Assist the Rapids 2 Marketing & Events Manager with Rapids 2 Home Games as needed
- Assist with tracking and reporting on monthly KPIs
- Work closely with the Colorado Rapids digital and communications departments to garner coverage of our community initiatives
- Attend department & event meetings, as well as ticket sales & marketing meetings as needed

Qualifications:
- Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in professional sports, recreation or community relations position
- General knowledge of soccer, including basic soccer skills
- Experience working with kids and/or adults
- General event product / management experience
- Experience in professional, collegiate or recreational sports organizations and/or nonprofit organizations(s)
- Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Preferred
- Certification or additional degree
- Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards.

- Ability to work on many projects, relate to public, prioritize, and pay attention to detail
- High level of energy and an ability to perform multiple tasks while exhibiting strong time management skills
- Ability to work a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays as needed

- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer software knowledge and ability in Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
- Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards
Compensation:
- Base salary range $60,000-$65,000 per annum
