Founded in 2008, WeeCycle’s mission is to collect and match gently used baby gear to low income families. WeeCycle’s mission is twofold, to support families with infants and toddlers struggling to provide for their children, and, to contribute to a healthier, more sustainable planet for future generations. WeeCycle walks alongside families, caregivers, and caseworkers to restore dignity for those struggling to provide for their families by connecting them to essential supplies such as formula, a safe place for their baby to sleep, a stroller so they can access public transportation and so much more.

Development Associate Position Overview:

As a Development Associate at WeeCycle, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's fundraising and donor cultivation efforts. Working closely with the Development team, you will contribute to building and maintaining relationships with donors, planning and executing fundraising events, and assisting in grant writing and reporting. Your work will directly impact the nonprofit's ability to achieve its mission and make a positive difference in the community.

This is a hybrid job with some work from home flexibility, some evening and weekend hours are required. 

Salary Range: $46,000-$55,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Donor Engagement and Cultivation:

    • Assist in the identification, research, and management of prospective donors, individuals, foundations, and corporations.

    • Contribute to the development of personalized donor communication strategies, including acknowledgment letters, updates, and stewardship activities.

    • Maintain accurate donor records and databases, ensuring timely and accurate entry of donor interactions.

  • Fundraising Event Coordination:

    • Collaborate with the team to plan and execute fundraising events, including logistics, guest management, and post-event follow-up.

    • Assist in the creation of event materials, invitations, and promotional materials.

    • Provide on-site support during events, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for attendees.

  • Grant Writing and Reporting:

    • Support the development of grant proposals, including research, writing, and compiling necessary documentation.

    • Assist in tracking grant deadlines, requirements, and reporting obligations.

    • Contribute to the preparation and submission of grant progress reports, ensuring compliance with donor expectations.

  • Donor Communications:

    • Contribute to the creation of compelling and impactful fundraising materials, such as fundraising appeals, case statements, and campaign collateral.

    • Collaborate with the communications team to ensure consistency of messaging across various platforms.

  • Database Management:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and prospect information in the organization's donor management software.

    • Generate reports and analytics to assist in tracking fundraising progress and identifying trends.

  • Administrative Support:

    • Provide administrative assistance to the Development team and Executive Director, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and managing correspondence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, communications, public relations, business) or equivalent work experience. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor management software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge).

  • Passion for the nonprofit sector and a commitment to the organization's mission.

  • Previous experience in fundraising, nonprofit work, event planning, or related fields is a plus.

  • Bilingual fluency is a plus.
