DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Town of Snowmass Village is looking to hire a Digital Marketing Manager to join our Tourism Department!  

Position salary range: $78,744 – $114,179 

Hiring range: $78,744 – $96,461 

$1,000 sign-on bonus available! 

This is an in-person position with possibility of a hybrid schedule 

We are looking for a Digital Marketing Manager that will  be responsible for supporting the economic development of Snowmass Village through tourism. 

Essential responsibilities include website management, SEO/SEM, online advertising, social media, and email marketing to support the destination goals and marketing objectives. Emphasis on strategic leadership and data analysis, including gathering data from various sources to provide detailed reporting to demonstrate performance of our websites, ad campaigns, booking engines, social media, email marketing and search engine optimization efforts. The position requires up to the minute knowledge and implementation of WordPress, Google Analytics, and MailChimp in addition to social media strategies utilizing a variety of platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and others. Keeping abreast of the changing trends in the fast-paced internet marketing world is essential. 

Some of the day-to-day duties are listed below:  

  • Developing digital strategies and platforms: search engine optimization, paid search marketing, email marketing, social media marketing and inbound marketing through content creation. Manages media tracking through Agency of Record and provides insights and recommendations to grow these mediums. Analyzes, oversees, and reports on website and digital ad performance. Follows industry trends and presents new opportunities for best practices in digital marketing for destination marketing organizations (DMOs). 

  • Managing Tourism Websites: Manages all websites owned by the tourism department including GoSnowmass.com, SnowmassIceAge.com, BikeSnowmass.com and HikeSnowmass.com.  Maintains full responsibility of these sites from creative design with adherence to brand guidelines to ensuring content accuracy. Ensures optimal search engine optimization and improves opportunities to increase traffic via authority signals like links generated by rich media / visual assets, social shares and likes, and additional authoritative signals like engagement.   

  • Additional website responsibilities: 

  • Mobile:  Monitors the trending mobile practices and manages the mobile marketing and other online applications for Snowmass Tourism.   

  • Booking Engine:  Manages relationship with Stay Aspen Snowmass related to booking widget.   

  • Social Media:  Leverages social media to grow Snowmass Village's bottom line through increasing visibility and growing customer loyalty to the brand, with the support of a Digital Marketing Coordinator who is focused on developing and implementing engaging content.  

  • Search Engine Marketing:  The Digital Marketing Manager must oversee the both paid and organic search engine marketing plans. 

  • CRM and email marketing:  The Digital Marketing Manager will use the optimal CRM tool and ensure optimal performance and segmentation of guest, stakeholder and prospect databases to ensure targeted, relevant email blasts and direct mail.   

  • Advertising: Work with Agency of Record to research, plan, buy and manage the execution and roll-out of regional and national online advertising and promotions to increase brand awareness, encourage trial and support conversion.   

  • Stakeholder Services:  Provides leadership for Snowmass stakeholders in the digital marketing arena, creating opportunities to help promote their businesses and support their own online efforts.  

  • Coordinator Management: Provides strategic leadership and direct management to Digital Marketing Coordinator, whose primary responsibilities include content development for websites and social media as well as email marketing, video storytelling, and digital marketing support 

  • Presentations:  Prepares and delivers professional presentations in person as requested to Board, Town Council, business stakeholders, partners, the community at large and various other groups.   

  • Measurement:  Produces monthly and as-needed basis reports using Google Analytics and other performance measurements. Draws conclusions, makes recommendations to greater marketing team on opportunities to grow our presence and engagement.   

  • Data Analytics:  Leverages data tool(s) to gain insight into local movement patterns, Tourism events demographics, point of interest activity, visitor behavioral profiles, the breakdown between local and guest behaviors and more.

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications/skills: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field to marketing and website development/management, and/or related degree or experience.   

  • 7+ years professional marketing experience managing websites, media plans and working with creative agencies (from client or agency side), independent designers and vendors.  5+ years of social media management experience within a business, brand, or agency setting, eg managing brand and business social pages including Facebook, Instagram etc. 

  • Be skilled in website management and UX including content management tools and systems, search engine optimization, pay-per-click and visual assets. Working knowledge of HTML and CSS preferred. 

  • Highly skilled with digital communities and social media including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and others, and stay on top of what’s next. 

  • Digital advertising planning experience preferred; working with third party qualifies. 

  • Able to multi-task, establish priorities based on department priorities and meet deadlines.  

  • Must have strong presentation skills. 

  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external staff, partners and stakeholders, as a representative of the Town of Snowmass Village. 

  • Must be able to provide guidance and management to the Digital Marketing Coordinator. 

  • Must be able to manage agency relationships and projects.  

  • Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, copywriting skills a plus. 

  • Experience with CRM/email systems, MailChimp preferred. 

  • Experience in social media strategy and measurement tools/platforms (eg. Meta Business Suite, Iconosquare) 

  • Basic understanding of web design in order to project manage third party developer. 

  • Solid understanding of web search platforms including Google and Bing; both paid and organic.
