The Denver Post is seeking a skilled night shift digital content producer with strong news judgment and breaking news instincts who is capable of working independently to arrange the DenverPost.com homepage, section fronts and social media accounts with a view to strong early-morning reader engagement. Applicants should have experience assigning breaking news stories to a reporter, making editorial decisions for homepage placement, social scheduling and mobile app distribution based on web traffic analytics and an understanding of the types of content audiences consume, when and why.
The job requires the ability to write a fast, accurate breaking news story if no reporter is available and the ability to edit if necessary. Applicants need a broad working knowledge of news, cultural and sports topics and how they rank in newsworthiness and importance.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with reporters and editors to define target audiences and implement strategies to reach audience goals.
At least two years of experience with daily digital production for a news site is required.
