SUMMARY: The Director of Donor Engagement is an essential member of University Advancement responsible for designing, implementing and coordinating a comprehensive and innovative alumni and donor engagement system that promotes impactful engagement between individuals and the University. The Director will work in close partnership with major gift, annual gift and alumni relations officers to provide the highest level of personal engagement and communication with the university’s current and prospective donors. This position must sustain and grow positive and mutually-rewarding relations between the University and its donors.
The Director participates as an active member of the University Advancement team and reports directly to the Director of Alumni Relations and Giving to create and evaluate strategies as needed. This position may supervise professional and student staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 30% Donor Engagement
•Oversee specific program development and execution for University Advancement donor engagement initiatives;
•Create comprehensive communications plan to effectively engage donors, alumni and prospective donors with the university;
•Provide vision and strategy for implementing multimedia and various digital platforms into engagement efforts
•Support ongoing alumni engagement efforts;
•In coordination with development officers, create and implement alumni speaker series to connect prospective alumni donors with students;
20% Donor Stewardship
•Create and implement a comprehensive stewardship plan for major donors;
•Maintain a portfolio of assigned relationships;
•Monitor weekly donations and organize stewardship strategies in partnership with development officers
•Provide strategy and support for all university giving societies and recognition clubs;
•Work closely with the Development Writer to create consistent print and digital stewardship content;
•Make stewardship calls, hand-written cards, and other follow-ups
•Provide regular reports to University Advancement team as needed.
20% Event Planning
•In coordination with the university’s event staff, oversee event planning for all University advancement events including the annual Scholarship Dinner and the annual Alumni Awards events;
•Coordinate with Development team to plan, execute and manage various President’s Society, donor, and alumni affinity events;
•Work with vendors to coordinate event needs; and
•Coordinate and supervise all event volunteers.
•Provide supervision and management to professional and student staff as well as volunteers.
20% Other Duties as Assigned
•Assist with implementing various alumni recognition programs;
•Maintain and update alumni and donor contact reports and other prospect data; and
•Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Alumni Relations and Giving.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications: 1)Bachelor’s degree;
2)Minimum 5 years experience in fundraising, communications, or related field;
3)Minimum 2 years event planning experience;
Preferred Qualifications: 1)Experience working in Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM/database software;
2)Evidence of successful creation, implementation and evaluation of projects;
3)Direct experience with Adobe Photoshop and/or InDesign; and
4)Experience working in university or non-profit development or advancement organization.

RANK & SALARY: The salary range is $63,268 – $79,768. The final salary will be commensurate with experience and education.
