Job Summary
Are you a strategic leader with a passion for donor engagement and stewardship? As the Director of Donor Relations, you will develop and manage a comprehensive donor relations program that fosters meaningful connections between the college and its donors. This role oversees fund management, gift administration, and stewardship efforts for special campaigns and capital projects while ensuring donor intent is honored. You will collaborate with key departments across campus and lead a dedicated team to enhance donor experiences and support fundraising success. Responsibilities
Strategic Vision: Develop and implement strategic vision for a comprehensive donor relations program including tailored strategies and tactics for major and principal gift prospects as well as broad-based recognition and events at a variety of levels. Work with the Director of Advancement Communications in the strategic planning, creation, and implementation of messaging and communication pieces to engage and cultivate prospects and donors.
Fund Management: Direct comprehensive gift and endowed fund management. Partners with departments including Finance, Financial Aid, Dean of the Faculty, the President’s Office, and academic departments to ensure timely and impactful stewardship and reporting. Create, assess, and champion policies, procedures, and standards across the division and the college to ensure high quality and impactful donor relations, adherence to donor intent, and the protection of the college’s best interests and resource.
Gift Administration: Oversee the recording of gifts and pledges, receipts and acknowledgment, following the industry’s best practices and applicable accounting and IRS standards.
Stewardship for Special Campaigns and Capital Projects: Oversee stewardship for special campaigns and capital projects: This includes engaging Facilities as needed, developing and monitoring naming opportunities, and directing dedications and special events.
Departmental and Personnel Management: Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and provide problem-solving assistance for staff. Oversee program budget and direct the allocation of financial, human, and other institutional resources to achieve departmental goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Experience: 5 years of experience in a related field
One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of required education (OR) one year of relevant academic coursework beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for one year of required professional experience.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:
- $80,482 to $98,591 per year
