Summary

Cleo Parker Robinson Dance (CPRD) will debut a major expansion in early 2026 that will nearly double its footprint and allow for significant increases in onsite programming. The new building adds a second theater to the campus, as well as studio and administrative spaces. The CPRD Theatres serves as a major destination for dance in Denver with a robust schedule of performing arts programming throughout the year hosted by CPRD, as well as other partners and organizations.

Description

Purpose of position
The CPRD Director of Theater Sales and Operations provides central oversight, coordination and management for the sales and daily operations of the CPRD Theaters and their associated programs.  In addition to the theaters themselves, theater programs include the lobby bar and concessions and future box office functions. This role ensures that the theaters are being fully utilized and maintained in the best interest of CPRD and its mission.

CPRD Director of Theater Sales and Operations Responsibilities

  • Lead the effort to drive revenue through theater rentals including external outreach and management of inbound inquiries.
  • Nurture relationships with local businesses and business groups, arts groups, government agencies, universities, the community, schools, the media, and arts organizations as clients of the theaters.
  • Manage all arrangements for rental of the theatres including quoting and contracts, securing staffing and delivering a positive experience for users of the space.
  • Along with CPRD leadership, develop and execute on processes and systems that ensure operations run smoothly. 
  • Meet or exceed earned revenue goals for rental revenue and associated programs. 
  • Hire and supervise production teams for each performance/event, including other contract labor and production volunteers. 
  • Develop and execute an annual plan to optimize rental revenue while allowing for broad community engagement throughout the year.
  • Manage and coordinate work schedules for event technicians.
  • Attend performances, rentals, and events as supervisor to manage accurate accounting and cash receipts and to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for staff, patrons, and artists 
  • Manage the operation, maintenance, and security of the theater spaces to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable facility.
  • Maintain financial records and payroll for theater staff.
  • Ensure proper and timely transactions and maintain records of all activities.

Qualifications

  • BA (preferred) 
  • 3 years minimum experience in sales and venue oversight
  • Value and passion for vision and mission of Cleo Parker Robinson Dance
  • Ability to lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational and managerial skills, and verbal and written communication 
  • Must be able to work and set priorities independently to effectively balance competing deadlines 
  • Capable of using all common relevant software tools
  • Proven excellent people and diplomatic skills
  • Dedication to a strong customer focus
  • A strong work ethic and unwavering standards of personal and professional integrity
  • Commitment to handling sensitive information with utmost confidentiality and professionalism

Class and Compensation:

Full time
Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000 plus commission potential
