Beehive Industries is dedicated to Powering American Defense by revolutionizing the design, development, and delivery of jet propulsion systems to support the warfighter. Through the integration of additive manufacturing, the company aims to meet the growing and urgent needs for unmanned aerial defense by dramatically improving a jet engine’s speed to market, fuel efficiency, and cost. 

Founded in 2020, the company is headquartered in Centennial, Colorado, with additional facilities in Knoxville, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Ohio. Beehive is committed to grow and advance the defense industrial base while manufacturing exclusively in the USA. 

Role Overview:

The Director of Public Relations and Communications is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial, results-driven, and creative leader to lead our communications and PR strategy. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of our external and internal communications, including media relations, advisor communications and executive visibility.  You will work to grow our brand presence, enhance our reputation and deliver high-impact results.

Responsible for the following areas within Beehive:

  • Working with the functional organizations to create Internal communications aligned with company strategy
  • Provide support to HR in creating content to support recruiting, retention, and employee engagement activities
  • Work with business leadership to create external communications
  • Supporting Beehive Brand consistency and development
  • Supporting investor relations and communications
  • Creating social and content in line with overall product and brand strategy
  • Collaborating with external agencies to support the above objectives
  • Responsible for building a social media strategy that targets key stakeholders
  • Preference that the ideal candidate has established relationships with major media outlets (ex. Aviation Week)
  • Develop and execute media engagement strategy to drive awareness, advocacy, and commercial success
  • Other responsibilities may include: speech writing, video development, internal & external newsletters, talking point development & dissemination

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. 
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing comprehensive communications strategies that align with organizational goals and deliver measurable results.
  • Hands-on experience working with cross-functional teams, including marketing, legal, HR, and senior leadership, to align messaging and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Aerospace or defense industry experience is preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional storytelling, writing, and editing abilities, with an eye for detail and a knack for crafting compelling narratives.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize projects while working on a deadline or in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor high-performing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $147,000-$240,000 base salary.  Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
