EDUCATION SPECIALIST (MEDICAL EDUCATION)

The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) is the premier international membership association for physicians, researchers, and medical professionals, who are dedicated to conquering lung and thoracic cancers globally. As an Education Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing and implementing medical education and professional development content for the IASLC’s multidisciplinary membership. You will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create engaging and effective educational activities that meet the evolving needs of medical professionals who manage patients with lung and thoracic cancers. This is a great opportunity to apply your instructional design skills to the field of medical education.

This nonsupervisory position is physically based in our downtown Denver, CO office on a hybrid work schedule. This position reports to the Associate Director, Education.

In this role, you will:
 

  • Design and develop innovative and interactive instructional material for continuing medical education (CME) activities.
  • Utilize instructional design principles to create engaging learning experiences.
  • Incorporate multimedia elements, such as videos, simulations, microlearning, social media CME, and interactive modules, into educational content.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to assess educational needs and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with the ACCME accreditation standards and guidelines for CME activities.
  • Create evaluative tools and provide timely reporting and analytics to assess the effectiveness and achievement of education program goals.
  • Collaborate with the Education team to accomplish departmental goals and expand educational programming for members.
  • Deliver timely, responsive, positive customer service to internal and external constituents.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed to support programs.

A successful candidate will have the following qualifications: 
 

  • A deep commitment to the mission of the IASLC and compassion for those living with a lung cancer diagnosis.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 2-3 years of experience in continuing medical education, instructional design, or professional adult education or certification programs.
  • Excellent written literacy and customer service skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment with internal and external constituencies.
  • Proficiency in standard computer programs  with demonstrated aptitude for quickly and efficiently learning and embracing new software.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in prioritizing, organization, time management, and project management with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in a medical society or professional association strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.
  • Multilingual fluency/literacy would be a plus.

  • Hybrid work schedule. Employees are based in our Denver office and are allowed to work remotely 2-3 days per week.
  • Compensation:  $60,000-75,000 annually, depending on related experience and education.
