Copper Mountain Resort is a vacation destination located 75 miles west of Denver, Colorado in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $2,115.38 to $2,276.92+ biweekly amount, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

Job Summary:

The Email Marketing Coordinator works in close collaboration with the Social Media Coordinator and under the direction of the Marketing Manager to successfully build and execute Copper Mountain email marketing initiatives and projects in support of Copper Mountain’s financial, room night, and skier visit goals, as well as to assist resort business units in maximizing revenue and/or profit from each guest visit. Delivers all work to Copper Mountain brand standards and ensures associated sub-brands are consistently executed and accurately communicated in both design and messaging to internal and external partners. The Email Marketing Coordinator’s purpose is to lead email campaigns from start to finish, driving engagement and revenue. They develop and execute strategies, oversee campaign scheduling, and analyze data to refine future campaigns. They should possess excellent communication and analytical skills, as well as be familiar with email marketing software such as Inntopia, IBM Acoustic, and BeeFree. The Email Marketing Coordinator is responsible for executing and maintaining the accuracy of CopperColorado.com, the Copper App, and communications/promotions associated with the Copper App. The Email Marketing Coordinator supports social media coverage, partnership marketing, and Woodward Copper marketing efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to support business objectives and goals.

  • Create and manage email marketing calendars, ensuring timely delivery of campaigns.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build email templates that are on-brand and visually appealing.

  • Manage subscriber lists and segmentations, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data.

  • Analyze and report on email campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization.

  • Ensure compliance with email marketing regulations and best practices, including CAN-SPAM and GDPR.

  • Manage relationships with email service providers and other vendors.

  • Stay up to date with email marketing software and technologies, making recommendations for adoption or upgrades.

  • Collaborate with internal marketing team to integrate email marketing with other marketing channels and initiatives.

  • Conducts quality assurance analysis of all email campaigns.

  • Coordinates and organizes digital assets for email campaigns.

  • Collects and evaluates email reporting metrics.

  • Ensures that daily email activities are completed and deployed on time.

  • Organizes the distribution of monthly newsletters.

  • Manages the database of subscribers and grows the mailing list by making enticing content upgrades.

  • Keeps up with the latest email best practices and marketing trends.

  • Assists in content creation for email distribution.

  • Troubleshoot and fix any problems that may happen during the generation, deployment, and delivery of emails.

  • Obtain and maintain full knowledge of Copper and Woodward Copper products, programs and timing.

  • Work closely with Communications team to ensure alignment across all communications.

  • Work with the Events & Partnership team and the Powdr Enterprise Team – Partners/Sponsors – to ensure partner contractual obligations are met.

  • Leads planning and execution of the Copper App and all associated programs.

  • Campaign result tracking – ability to develop and monitor ROI on multiple campaigns and implement change accordingly.

  • Competitive analysis – up to date knowledge of competitive initiatives within the ski industry and the travel and leisure industry as a whole. Ensures external factors are considered and translated to meet Powdr objectives.

  • Supports Human Resources with recruitment marketing initiatives.

  • Able to execute budget and effectively manage the timely processing of invoices and accounts payable.

  • Works in close collaboration with other members of the marketing team on various other elements of fulfilling on overall marketing strategy and execution.

  • Updates and maintains websites including correcting errors, updating outdated information, and changing content when received from other departments. Monitor all Copper website content for accuracy and update information on internal and external websites. 

  • Works with Marketing Manager to deliver noteworthy on-brand, audience-centric email communication for Copper and Woodward Copper that supports the CRM strategy.

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Assist with social media snow coverage for the resort.

  • Assist with development and execution of social media strategy and execution as needed.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Email Marketing.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, CSS, and HTML.

  • Strong writing and proof-reading skills.

  • Excellent organization and analytical skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members.

  • Project management experience.

  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to ski/ride all terrain at Copper Mountain.

  • Ability to work in a high alpine environment in snow, cold, and high altitude.

  • Must be able to consistently work weekends and holidays as part of regular schedule.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will be conducted after position is accepted. This background check will be done in accordance with standards enacted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. 

Preferred Experience and Special Skills:

  • Portfolio may be asked for during the application process.

  • Must have strong communication skills.

  • Experience in social media marketing.

  • Requires Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.

  • Ability to respond quickly in crisis situations.

  • Advanced skiing/riding experience preferred.
