Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver (BGCMD) is seeking an Events Manager to lead the planning and execution of our special events. As part of our collaborative, mission-driven Resource Development team, you’ll play a key role in advancing community relationships and raising critical support for the kids and teens who need us most.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Philanthropy (Corporate/Events), the Events Manager is responsible for delivering seamless, high-impact events that align with BGCMD’s brand and fundraising goals. From large-scale galas to community-focused gatherings, you will ensure every event is thoughtfully designed, well-executed, and memorable.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the planning, budgeting, and execution of all BGCMD special events, with at least 3 years’ experience in nonprofit or gala functions preferred.
  • Provide excellent customer service and serve as a key point of contact for sponsors, donors, and volunteers.
  • Collaborate across departments to align event goals with BGCMD’s overall brand, communications, and development strategy.
  • Set measurable participation, revenue, and benefit-fulfillment goals, while developing and managing event budgets, revenue, and expenses.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, vendors, and partners, overseeing solicitation communications, tracking, and follow-up.
  • Manage all event logistics, including registration, attendee tracking, donation procurement, auctions, and post-event evaluation.
  • Ensure accurate data management and reporting through effective use of databases and tracking tools.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management or a related field from an accredited university or college.
  • Three years' experience of demonstrable planning of large-scale events (i.e., event planner for corporate golf tournament)
  • Equivalent experience directly planning events in a similar role may be substituted on a year-by-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate in this position should possess:

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills – Ability to work effectively with external and internal partners to establish and build relationships

  • Prior/Current Expertise – Working for a nonprofit organization. Performing duties and responsibilities involving fundraising. Hands on experience with event management software (i.e., RE NXT or similar donor database)

  • Adaptability – Comfortable adjusting approaches based on varying needs, settings, and schedules.

  • Collaboration – Skilled at building strong relationships with partners, internal teams, and community resources.

  • Strong Communication – Clear and professional communication to provide technical support to users of all levels and backgrounds.

  • Problem Solving – Knowledge and understanding of fundraising, charitable giving, and donor relations.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be able to pass screenings for criminal and driving records investigations, and reference checks.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy.
  • The successful candidate will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required.
  • The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25 lbs.
  • Strong English proficiency is required for this position to ensure effective communications with staff, Club members, and families, as well as to follow safety and procedural guidelines accurately.

Job Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Annual Salary Range: $53,120 – $60,000

Hours: Monday -Friday; 40 hours/week

Location: This position works primarily at the Program Support Center but may occasionally work from other BGCMD facilities as necessary. All remote work and other flexible work arrangements must be approved prior to implementation.
