We’re seeking a Foundation Impact Communications Manager at our Western Union Global Headquarters in Englewood, Colorado. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and delivering an annual calendar of communication campaigns and activities to create awareness and engagement in the Western Union (WU) Foundation’s social impact to internal and external stakeholders and measuring success of the campaigns.

Key Responsibilities will include:
Responsible for setting the strategy for impact reporting communications including the calendar, channels, content and campaigns used to engage stakeholders in the work of the Foundation. This strategy reaches across core programs, including the social impact delivered through NGO partners, employee engagement, volunteering, agent and vendor outreach, and disaster relief. Near-in projects including the development of a new Foundation website and digital annual impact report as well as annual nonprofit awards.
Responsible for creating a test and learn strategy for fundraising campaigns to engage stakeholders (potentially including consumers) to donate to the foundation and/or directly to NGOs through 3rd party donation vendors.
Responsible for continuously creating strategies to explore media grant opportunities or other opportunities that the Foundation can leverage, in partnership with Social Media.
Must have a high execution focus and the successful candidate will require knowledge and experience in all facets of paid, owned and earned media for nonprofits.
Work closely with the Global Brand, Social, CRM, Loyalty and Creative Excellence teams as well as key external stakeholders.
Develop an annual communications calendar with input from the WU Foundation team members that enables the WU Foundation to share highlights of its philanthropic work.
Coordinate with WU communication channel owners (social, PR/media, blog, etc.) and manage WUF owned channels (WU Life, website, etc.).
Build and implement a strategic communications plan and define clear metrics for the WU Foundation that are closely tied to the philanthropic vision.
Develop an annual communications calendar with input from WU Foundation team members that enables the WU Foundation to share highlights of its philanthropic work.
Coordinate with Western Union Company communication channel owners (social, PR/media, blog, etc.) and manage the Western Union Foundation’s owned channels (website, Twitter).
Telling the Foundation Impact Story:
Produce a range of content (including blog posts, tweets, annual report, talking points, etc.) to communicate the impact of the Foundation and its activities to external audiences.
Engage with Foundation program leads for Grants, Scholarships, Agent/Vendor outreach, Employee Engagement, etc. to gather information to compile.
Responsible for the refresh and maintenance of Foundation website and Twitter page.
Build a Constituency:
Build and maintain a database of external stakeholders for regular, ongoing CRM outreach that leads to a semi-annual fundraising ask. Create a test and learn strategy for fundraising campaigns to engage external audiences to donate to the foundation – track results and build on learnings to optimize future efforts.
Partner with Partnerships and Development Senior Manager to explore customer donations within the Western Union Company transaction process and ensure integration with Foundation efforts.
Assist the Employee Engagement Manager on messaging for internal fundraising initiatives.
WU Foundation is a heavily regulated 501c3 USA charity, and all Foundation roles include administration and reporting of activity, budgets and metrics to comply with regulations
WU Foundation also runs wide ranging fundraising and engagement events which all team members are required to support for example assisting with annual golf tournament or other convened events
Performs other related duties as assigned.
What you will need to succeed:
Bachelor’s Degree required
4+ years related experience
Strong understanding of all areas of marketing and communications
Ability to drive results through others and be a game changer
Proven track record at working in global businesses and with different cultures
Non-Profit experience is preferred
Skills & Competencies required:
Strong copywriting skills
Strong listening, influencing and relationship management skills are required
Ability to influence others without authority
