The Open Media Foundation is hiring a Full Stack Web Developer.
You will be joining OMF’s Creative Services team, building communications tools exclusively for nonprofit and government clients, managing OMF’s Open.Media SaaS, while also supporting the development of sites for OMF’s clients. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects from informational websites to complex applications for some of the most impactful nonprofit clients in the state.


50% of your time will be dedicated to maintaining and supporting our Open.Media SaaS platform. The platform is comprised of several Drupal 7 sites and a collection of Python applications. The majority of the backend code is in custom Drupal modules while the front end interfaces are built using JavaScript/ React/Redux. AWS is used to manage the external Python services while Pantheon hosts the Drupal sites.

The other 50% of this position will be dedicated to building custom Drupal and WordPress sites for nonprofit and government clients (see examples here). WordPress has become the most requested CMS by our clients and is likely to be used in the majority of our future work. Common tasks include site deployment & configuration, custom theme development, contrib module/plugin management and custom module/plugin development.

We’re looking for someone with 2-3 years of experience, problem-solving skills and strong work ethic. This position is ideal for someone with experience building custom websites who is also interested in exploring product development. The ability to handle backend tasks such as migration, webops, and management of web services will be key. Our new Full Stack Developer will participate in all areas of the development process, estimating tasks and working to meet team commitments.

    • WordPress development (plugin and theme)

  • Strong PHP and MySQL skills

  • Strong HTML and CSS skills

This position starts at $60,000.
