Join us as the Government Affairs Administrator and play a key role in supporting board operations, legal compliance, and public engagement in the Vail Valley. This is your chance to work at the intersection of governance, policy, and community impact.
In this role, you will support the Board of Directors of a mission driven local government by engaging in a wide range of responsibilities, from conducting issue research and preparing board meeting materials to writing meeting minutes and public notices. You will also assist with legislative activities and the District's elections, help share important information with the public through events and outreach, and oversee contract administration processes, including managing automation systems and administrative workflows.

Day to Day
- Board Administration: Manage all duties related to board of directors’ meetings for three entities; prepare meeting materials, record minutes, and ensure statutory compliance and proper documentation.
- Compliance: Oversee legal and regulatory obligations including election administration, public notices, and statutory deadlines to ensure the District remains in full compliance.
- Records Management: Maintain official board records and governance documentation; prepare and update policies, templates, and procedural materials for internal and public audiences.
- Government & Legislative Affairs: Support policy development and advocacy efforts; assist in monitoring legislative activities, coordinating government relations and ensuring compliance in District elections.
- Contract & Legal Administration: Manage contract processes including language review, signature workflows, and document retention; oversee legal notices and public postings.
- Community Engagement: Support the Communications team with public-facing communication efforts, including participation in community events and development of communication materials.
- Process Improvement: Operate and improve archiving systems, workflow automation, and process analysis tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and internal coordination.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Competencies
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Two (2) years of professional experience in government-related fields.
- Experience preparing documents for government entities, with transparency and compliance.
- Knowledge of legislative and governmental processes. Experience in the water, sanitation, or public utilities sector is a plus.
- Strong technical writing skills, verbal communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Excel, SharePoint, and Adobe is a plus.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under District standards.
Pay Range
The pay range for a Government Affairs Administrator at ERWSD is $81,166.51-113,611.26 annually. The starting range depends on qualifications but generally falls within the minimum and midpoint of the pay range.
