What You Will Do:

Sphero is looking for an exceptional Graphic Designer to join our growing creative team. The primary responsibility of this person will be to assist the design team on campaign and business initiatives under guidance of the Art Director and Associate Creative Director. This role will report to the Associate Creative Director.

As with anyone on the creative team, the role will have a high energy, can-do attitude, and a passion for the work. The right candidate must be passionate about people and thrive in high energy environments where tight deadlines are the norm.

We’re looking for a hungry designer – someone who wants to make a name for herself/himself. This person naturally treats every project like their first, is incredibly organized, dependable, detail-oriented and able to work under uber-tight deadlines. Additionally, this designer must possess an excellent work ethic, undeniable talent, and a good sense of humor. Above all, this human must possess a genuine love for making things and helping keep the ship sailing.

Design projects will vary drastically, but may include:

Crafting content like social posts, banner ads, print ads, emails, etc…

Supporting the design team's overall efforts

And then a few wildcard assignments for good measure

Who You Are:

-B.S./B.A. degree in Graphic Design and/or a killer portfolio showing off executions as well as concepts

-Top notch organizational skills in order to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines

-Flexibility and adaptability; ability to solve problems like a pro and work well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment… all while being able to switch gears and accept change as priorities change

-The ability to follow the rules and seamlessly bend them when necessary

-Knowledge of brand identity, voice, and the ability to adhere to brand standards

-You have the ability to collaborate, take direction, and keep your cool under pressure

-Strong layout skills and incredible typography skills (with extensive knowledge of visual hierarchies)

-Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Applications (Specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat)

-Knowledge of printing practices; paper stocks, color processes, coatings, die-cuts, varnishes, embossing, debossing, foils etc.

-Familiarity with social media platforms, and knowledge of best practices for infographic design

-Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and a good sense of humor (you’ll need it)

-Strong sketching & storyboarding skills are a plus

-Experience with animated GIF creation & simple animation is an extra plus

Experience Requirements:

-All candidates must submit their portfolio in order to be considered for this position.

-2+ years experience within an advertising or communications agency, graphic design firm, print house, or something of that nature.

-We are not looking for an art director. This is a technical graphic design position.
