Your Impact
As Head of External Relations – Enterprise, you will shape how Newmont is understood, trusted, and engaged globally. You will influence governments, civil society, and international institutions while advising senior leadership on geopolitical, reputational, and stakeholder risks that directly affect enterprise strategy, growth, and long‑term value.
As part of our team, you will
- Lead Newmont’s enterprise‑wide external relations strategy, aligned to global business and sustainability priorities
- Build and maintain high‑impact relationships with governments, NGOs, multilateral agencies, and thought leaders
- Anticipate geopolitical and legislative trends and translate insights into clear executive guidance
- Lead enterprise responses to high‑risk external or reputational issues, including executive briefings and external positioning
- Shape and deliver clear, compelling written and verbal communications for senior leaders and priority external stakeholders
- Integrate external risk and stakeholder insights into country strategies, portfolio planning, and M&A decisions
- Develop targeted engagement strategies across human rights, sustainability, and broader ESG priorities
Prerequisites for your success in this role
- Graduate degree in Public Relations, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or related field
- Senior‑level experience in external relations, government affairs, or public affairs, ideally within mining or resource‑intensive industries
- Deep understanding of global regulatory, geopolitical, and policy environments
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including executive‑level briefing, persuasive writing, and stakeholder messaging
- Proven ability to influence without authority, navigate complex socio‑political environments, and manage sensitive issues
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect external dynamics to business and enterprise outcomes

The salary range offered for this role is USD $179,100 to $289.275. Please note the listed salary range is specific to roles based in Denver, Colorado. Compensation for candidates in other regions—including Canada and Australia—will be adjusted according to local market benchmarks and cost-of-living considerations.
