Intermountain Health’s St. Joseph Hospital is searching for their next Hospital President. Serving the people of Denver, Colorado and the surrounding communities since 1873, St. Joseph is the largest private teaching hospital in Denver, providing a tradition of healthcare that includes compassionate caregivers, stellar clinical expertise and outcomes, a JOA with National Jewish Health, and clinical partnerships with other key community stakeholders like Denver Health, FQHCs just to name a few. The salary range for this role is $502k – $592k annually and as determined by prior years of relevant experience. With this position, you are eligible to participate in an annual pay-for-performance opportunity (“AP4P”). This plan enables Intermountain Health to provide leaders with an additional performance compensation opportunity. The AP4P opportunities are calculated as a percentage of your base salary. Awards are paid out based on attainment of selected Intermountain Health Board-approved goals.

As the Hospital President, you will:

Promote and integrate the Intermountain Health mission, vision and values throughout all operations, initiatives and functions and ensure responsible stewardship over all financial, capital and human resource assets.

Direct all operations and programs to achieve established financial, clinical, patient/customer, human resources and operating goals; compliance with Intermountain Health policies and programs and compliance with all regulatory, federal and state laws, and accrediting bodies that govern healthcare delivery.

Partner with key stakeholders to grow the clinical footprint and services of Saint Joseph, a large tertiary hospital in a vibrant part of Denver

Ensure the hospital and medical staff are fully trained in regulations and initiates changes to policies and practices when necessary.

Provide leadership, promote and maintain the ongoing collaboration to deliver exceptional patient-centered, innovative and value-based health care. Further goals include assuring the highest performance scores and published rankings and organizing, developing and growing robust primary and specialty care networks and other programs.

Establish and promote positive working relationships with all Medical Staff, ensuring that the mission and values of Intermountain Health are effectively communicated, understood and practiced among physicians along with coordinating efforts in recruiting and retaining medical staff.

Ensure effective fiscal control, reporting and management, identifying and addressing trends and developments and planning and executing to attain utilization, revenue, cost, margin and cash flow targets.

Collaborate with Intermountain Health’s Market, Regional and Enterprise leadership in developing quality assurance and outcomes measurement capabilities that will support the concepts of evidenced-based medicine and management.

Provide leadership and support in the design and implementation of Human Resource philosophies, programs and processes to attract, recruit, develop, motivate, reward and retain the high caliber associates required for organizational success.

Demonstrate strong leadership abilities by building an organization that has depth in its management structure and develops its staff to ensure sound succession planning exists.

In partnership with market leadership and National Jewish leadership, position the JOA between Saint Joseph and National Jewish to grow and align as appropriate in clinical delivery of key service lines.

Establish reporting relationships and job responsibilities that meet the needs of the organization and will advance the hospital and JOA towards achieving its vision and strategic initiatives.

Effectively lead in a highly matrixed, shared services environment.
We expect excellence, which is why we require:

Master’s degree, required Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.

Ten years of experience in a progressively responsible leadership position within the healthcare industry, required

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, required

A willingness and ability to travel periodically is required

An MBA or MHA is preferred
-
Five years of prior experience as a hospital executive, preferred

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$203.15 – $313.60
