As part of the Major Gifts team within MSU Denver’s

University Advancement division, the Individual Giving Administrative Coordinator is critical to the team’s success in creating meaningful relationships leading to individual donor investments in the university. The Individual Giving Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for administrative duties and tasks ensuring cohesive and productive donor relations services. This position reports to the Senior Director of Major Gifts.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative, executive support, and development related tasks. Participating in a variety of projects, the successful candidate must be exceedingly well-organized, solutions-oriented, flexible, and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting a fast-paced team. Strong written and verbal communication skills, decision-making ability, attention to detail, and customer service orientation are equally important.

Duties/Responsibilities                         

  • Provides key administrative support to the Major Gifts team.
  • Schedules appointments, and proactively maintains Major Gifts team calendars to ensure efficient time management.
  • Assists the Major Gifts team with expense reporting and reimbursement.
  • Assists the Major Gifts team with donor reporting and collateral preparation.
  • Assists staff with data entry relative to contacts and activities as needed.
  • Coordinates actions, questions, and decisions between supervisor and others.
  • Supports data integrity through Raiser’s Edge management, reporting, and other tasks as needed.
  • Coordinates briefings for team and cross campus partners ahead of relevant donor meetings.
  • With Major Gifts team, coordinates external partner campus meetings and tours, including meeting room prep, ordering refreshments, printing agendas, assembling folders, and other related tasks.
  • Participates in professional development with the Major Gifts team and other related teams.
  • Fosters a collaborative work environment among interdisciplinary groups of faculty and staff.
  • Prepares routine and non-routine correspondence.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Major Gifts team and campus partners regarding questions, research information, reports, and operations.

Required Qualifications                        

  • Commitment to the mission and vision of MSU Denver.
  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • At least three years of experience in a general clerical or customer service position. College or university course work appropriate to the work assignment may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally. Advanced-level scheduling, calendar management, and project management skills. Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) in a professional setting.
  • Excellent customer service skills: ability to anticipate customers’ needs and respond with workable solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines without compromising quality/attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications                       

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Professional experience working in a non-profit, government, or higher education environment.
  • Familiarity with MSU Denver.
  • Wide-ranging knowledge of office procedures.
  • Professional experience in a development, fundraising, or administrative position.
  • Experience using donor database software, such as Raiser’s Edge or similar.

Work Hours                                  

M-F 8:00am-5:00pm

Note: This position is eligible for a hybrid (remote/in-person) work schedule as job responsibilities allow.

Salary for Announcement

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $51,100-60,000. 

 The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

 The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
