The salary range for this position is $49,900 – $62,400. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Position Summary

The Manager of Student Services provides support and oversight for the Department of Nutrition programs including undergraduate programs, graduate programs (including Dietetic Internship) and 3+2 Program in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. This includes budgeting, assessment, recruitment and retention, admissions and advising, registration and strategic enrollment management, graduation and alumni relations, administrative, and other duties as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities

Enrollment Management, Budgeting, and Reporting (30%):
• Establishes and continuously advances metrics-based enrollment benchmarks and manages enrollment efforts to inform resource management decisions and future strategies
• Strategically manages and forecasts revenue for the department, connecting enrollment management strategies and data to departmentally informed growth and development goals
• Engages in strategic management of all department budgets
• Tracks all expenses at a high-level to ensure an accurate reflection of program costs and provides recommendations for optimizing available resources
• Alongside department chair and program directors, responsible for growth, assessment and outcomes of department programs

Student Support Services and Programming (25%):
• Provides holistic oversight, visioning, and management of all student services and programming to ensure contributions are well integrated into all areas of the entire student lifecycle
• Leads the development of workshops, professional development opportunities, and official events for students that are based on student demand and are effective in reaching Office, Departmental, and University goals
• Provides advising and admissions support for all department programs
• Tracks and monitors student success and academic progress, including graduate student application, acceptance, admission and registration
• Serves as first point of contact for all student inquiries
• Meets with prospective graduate students by phone, virtually and in-person; provides campus tours as necessary
• Updates student handbooks as needed

Administration, Assessment, and Data Management (20%):
• Serves as staff liaison for MSU Denver administrative offices, campus programs and university-wide services relevant to the Department of Nutrition programs
• Effectively and efficiently manages data collection and records in relation, but not limited to, applicants, current students, students’ status in program, compliance and non-compliance, and demographic information
• Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by exploring and implementing best practices related to program assessment
• Provides idea development for all department programs related to student services and administration
• Identifies problems in operations and engages in solution management
• Assists with scholarship creation and management

Marketing and Outreach (10%):
• Supervises the marketing, recruiting and administrative admissions processes of undergraduate and graduate students from initial interest through full matriculation that aim to attract a diverse pool of applicants
• Establishes and nurtures relationships with colleges and universities, high schools, and community outreach programs
• Organizes and executes both small and large marketing campaigns, adhering to university brand standards and university marketing initiatives
• Provides oversight on all marketing collateral and website content
• Assists student organizations in the planning of student-run events

Supervision (10%):
• Promotes growth, open dialogue, and engagement strategies that embrace staff members’ personal strengths, address challenges, and encourages individual and team success and development
• Supervises office staff to ensure quality and effective services are consistently provided and retention and enrollment strategies are aligned with Departmental and University goals
• Recruits and manages Teaching Assistants in line with Department budget and faculty needs

Other Duties as assigned (5%)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Education, Business, Public Administration, Communications, or in a directly related field from an accredited institution
• Experience working in education administration
• Experience with student information systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nutrition, Student Affairs, Education, Educational Technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
• Experience in graduate enrollment management
• 5 years of experience working in education, providing academic admissions support including managing student admissions applications
• Supervisory experience
• Experience in the recruitment and/or retention of first generation, underrepresented, and ethnic, minority students
• Previous marketing and/or communications experience
• Experience managing a revenue-based budget
• Experience in predictive analytics
