OVERVIEW:
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
In the Position of North America Marketing and Communications Manager – Industrial Relations, the incumbent will have the responsibility for ideation, conceiving and creating concepts and layouts for marketing and advertising materials, sales flyers, as well as other types of media as needed. This position will have responsibility for managing digital assets and working closely with the various NA marketing team and customers to ensure that Gates is meeting their digital/creative needs. This position also supports projects to support the field sales force, like Sales conference prep/ sales materials/ giveaways/ literature review/ shows/events/media planning/creative pitches.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below.
 
Works with Product, Sales and Marketing team members and key account clients to develop annual marketing plans and corresponding marketing campaigns and manage product launches from a marketing communications point of view (internal or agency briefing, project management, media planning/ KPIs).
Collect voice of customer and market research as a base for campaign development.
Continuously ‘mine’ product benefit stories from engineering, R&D and GPL team, proof points why Gates product is better than other competitors on a regular basis to enable fresh content production.
Ideate, enable design and production of visual assets and content that are on brand and support communication across all channels including print and digital, social, CRM.
Ideal candidate has worked in the Marketo or Hubspot marketing platform and is capable of writing short punchy and powerful scripts and copy for videos and ads.
Uses brand guidelines to create attractive marketing materials to promote products, brands, customers. Adheres to and protects brand standards.
Initiates development of print materials and repurposes them in digital format for use on the website as well as other applications such as emails, social media and internal systems which enable communication to distributors.
Works with other members of the marketing department to plan, develop and produce effective graphics and communications and product campaigns.
Develops content for print and digital marketing materials and helps proofread and edit other content in collaboration with the respective product managers.
General Cross marketing channel mix responsibilities including but not limited to: Event & Conference Planning and execution (i.e. annual NA sales conference), Participation in major strategic initiatives, key product launches, working with, overseeing and directing agencies.

3 – 5 years of progressive related experience

REQUIRED SKILLS:  
Works well under pressure, effectively handles conflict and demonstrates flexibility in work style to accommodate changing priorities and fixed deadlines
Self-motivated, capable of seeking quality solutions and continuously focusing on process improvements while keeping the needs of the business in the forefront
Detail oriented
Effective communication skills both written and oral
Microsoft Office a must (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Access knowledge helpful.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically in the InDesign and Photoshop
Working knowledge of the XML file format
Working knowledge of image file types
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Copywriting for videos and ads
Can present ideas clearly to others
Understanding of and experience in branding, layout, color theory and typography in both print and digital media.
Experience with Marketing Automation like Markto/Hubspot.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Basic photography
Video production and editing
Indesign capabilities
