ESCAPE CAMPERVANS is a unique and fast-growing travel company that rents custom-built campervans across the US. We provide a budget-friendly, functional and fun vehicle for weekends away, cross-country road trips, and everything in between. Perfect for couples, families, and friends, we strive to inspire adventure and exploration off-the-beaten path. Our teams have local knowledge and expertise to help our renters get the most out of their vacation, and all of our vans are hand-painted by local artists in LA, adding an extra special energy to the offering. It’s really about the freedom and spontaneity the van gives you to explore the beauties of our planet in a safe and fun way.  

Founded in 2009 in LA, we now have 450+ vans across 7 locations – LA, SF, Seattle, Denver, Las Vegas, New York, and Miami.

JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Marketing Coordinator, you have a strong background in all things digital, including content strategy, email marketing, advertising, and social media. You understand the power of a solid brand and how that foundation, along with the business vision, drives the marketing strategy across channels and tactics. You are all over the small details – copy edits, grammar, deadlines, production, proofing, etc. – but you let the big picture guide your every move. You are a strong communicator, you’re constantly coming up with new ideas, and you have a curious mind.

The ideal candidate is organized, conscientious, and proactive. You are a quick learner, a problem solver, and comfortable wearing many hats (including cleaning a van or two!).

This candidate will report to the director of marketing, and will work closely with the sales and reservations team, customer service team, and hub managers across the 7 locations. 

Your responsibilities include:

  • CONTENT:
    • We have a wealth of knowledge among our staff and in our guidebook that we’ve grown over the years. Help bring that to life + build on it, by developing a content library that we can pull from for email, social, website, and advertising. Gather information and repurpose it to build mini campaigns throughout the year as a way to build our community, drive repeat renter growth, and use as a conversion tool. Examples include:
      • Field reports, trip routes, trip recommendations, itinerary ideas, travel tips, renter stories, artist profiles, etc.
  • EMAIL:
    • Work closely with the director of marketing to develop an email calendar for a monthly newsletter, audience-specific campaigns, seasonal campaigns, content ideas for email, customer surveys, etc.
    • Help design, build, and write emails in Mailchimp.
  • ORGANIC SOCIAL:
    • Assist director of marketing with social calendar, content, scheduling, posting, and reporting across channels
    • Consistently work on developing new ways to drive growth and engagement across channels 
  • ADVERTISING:
    • Assist director of marketing with digital media campaign
    • Assist in developing creative assets
    • Work closely with designer to develop creative for campaigns
    • Project management
  • OTHER:
    • Assist director of marketing with other marketing programs and initiatives, including but not limited to:
      • Content & Social collaborations
      • Analytics, reporting, survey management 
      • Local events
      • Local partnerships
      • Print production (collateral, postcards, brochures, stickers, swag, etc.)
      • Project management
      • Assist with new website replatform / redesign project

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Business, English, Communication or related field a plus)
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Entry level – 2 years experience working in a marketing or related role
  • Skilled writer
  • Proficient on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat + other social platforms
