Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this full-time position provides a variety of advanced developmental, strategic and administrative functions that lead Adoption Options marketing objectives. The Marketing Coordinator is accountable for designing, implementing and executing all marketing, social media and public relations campaigns and holds the ultimate responsibility for marketing activities including the delivery of integrated promotional strategies that will generate demand for agency services, products and fundraising initiatives.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the achievement of Adoption Options strategic marketing objectives
  • Design direct/indirect marketing, social media and public relations programs with supporting budgets and timelines
  • Accountable for editorial direction, production and distribution of all agency publications
  • Ensure that evaluation systems are in place related to marketing goals and report progress and outcomes to all stakeholders
  • Develop and manage internal processes to ensure all marketing strategies, plans and initiatives are effectively carried out to conclusion
  • SEO & Google Ad Words Liaison – serve as the main contact for the agency’s chosen vendors, provide timely analysis and interpretation of results, work with vendors to achieve goals, report results to AO management & staff, link reports/results and conversion to revenue
  • Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) – plan, implement and maintain monthly posting calendar
  • Provide event and donor marketing support as directed
  • Website – liaise with developer & designer to implement needed changes/updates, refresh content as needed, coordinate with SEO & web developer to optimize search results
  • Prepare quarterly newsletters – solicit content, prepare outlines, gather images, edit, organize layouts and proof prior to publication
  • Compile a comprehensive data base that supports ongoing agency marketing and social media activities
  • Maintain knowledge of marketing trends, developments and best practices
  • Work in a collaborative and supportive manner with all agency staff members and volunteers
  • Meet the attendance requirements of the job, including weekends and evenings as needed
  • Adhere to Agency internal and external confidentiality requirements
  • Meet the personal appearance standards as outlined in the employee handbook
  • Work with adoptive families to curate their printed and online family profile (video, booklet, website page and birth parent letter)

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or communications with a minimum of 3 years’ experience leading an organizations marketing effort
  • Experience with design, online marketing including social media and content marketing
  • Ability to creatively devise and lead cross channel marketing campaigns that engage, educate, and motivate
  • Experience with Little Green Light or similar donor management software
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot original branding opportunities
  • Thorough knowledge of web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, WebTrends, Google Ad words, etc.)
  • Strong strategic, analytical, organizational, communication and writing skills
  • Demonstrated proactive approach to responsibilities
  • Proven ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner to meet the current needs of the business, such as reprioritizing work as necessary
  • Ability to prepare and execute against expense forecasts and budgets
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and problem solve
  • Superb interpersonal skills, self-motivated, ability to work independently or in a collaborative fashion
  • Efficiency with Microsoft Office
  • A desire to work in a small non-profit team environment and perform multiple tasks
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and possess a valid unrestricted driver’s license
  • Work related travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected
  • Provide periodic supervision of marketing interns

  • Required to work extended periods of time at a video display terminal with ongoing key board data entry
