General Description of Duties

The Manager is responsible for the general management of Lupus Colorado (LC) office operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to answering phones and communication with LC’s constituents, events, and some program management. This position will also pay bills, make bank deposits, enter data, and balance the organization’s books and finances in QuickBooks.


Prefer two years’ experience in a similar position. Computer proficiency required including Windows, Microsoft, Gmail, Word, Excel, and QuickBooks. Experience with Sales Force, Classy, and Mail Chimp is a plus. High school degree required. Some college preferred.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate donor database, mailings, electronic communications.
  • Prepare donor and constituent correspondence.
  • Manage client financial assistance program.
  • Maintain files for audit and tax filings.
  • Assemble and create donor deposits and monthly bill payments.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • Attend and assist with events.
  • Prepare quarterly newsletter.
  • Other duties as assigned.


It is imperative that compassion and empathy is evident and displayed in this position. Some event and weekend work hours required at various times throughout the year in particular supporting events, especially during the month of May (Lupus month), September (Walk fundraising event) and October (Symposium). This position may also participate in tabling events requiring a 2-4 hour setup of Lupus Colorado materials, managing the table and greeting the public. (Tabling events have been halted in the past two years but may be required starting in 2023.)


Salary and Benefits

This is a part-time contract position requiring 18-20 hours per week. There are no benefits. Office hours are Monday-Thursday, 9am-4pm. The hours for this position are flexible within those parameters. The position can be remote apart from events, regular mail pickup and bank deposits. Hourly pay is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range: $16.00-20.00/hour


Skills and Abilities

Ability to read, analyze and interpret correspondence and documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints. Ability to write a business letter, newsletter, and other correspondence. Ability to work without supervision in a remote and/or small office environment. Ability to take initiative and complete project assignments independently and on-time. Exhibit a positive and welcoming demeanor in person and on the telephone. Organizational skills are essential to perform position requirements efficiently. Ability to maintain a high degree of privacy and confidentiality. Ability to hold a valid Colorado Driver’s license.
