Description
This position ensures regulatory compliance by overseeing the review and tracking of permits, conducting thorough inspections of private development and capital construction projects, and maintaining accurate records. By facilitating seamless permitting and enforcement processes, this role helps uphold the District's standards for community development.
This position is a field-focused role with significant time spent outdoors conducting site visits, inspections, and working directly with developers, contractors, and project teams in the field. While some documentation and coordination will occur in the office, the majority of responsibilities require being on-site to ensure projects meet regulatory and quality standards.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills with an ability to maintain accurate and organized records of permits, inspections, and compliance documentation ensuring that records are up to date and readily accessible. You should be comfortable working independently with broad direction and limited supervision with an ability to collaborate with developers and contractors to facilitate permitting, project approvals, and inspections. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in order to prepare and present reports, correspondence, and recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, public administration, environmental science, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with municipal permitting processes is desirable.
- Knowledge of roadway, water, sewer, and stormwater construction practices is desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and permits.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license required.
Benefits
- The salary range for this role is $55,000 to $82,800 annually. Starting salary depends on qualifications. This position is also eligible for a year-end performance-based bonus.
