Presentation design agency looking for a seasoned visual storyteller with killer design instincts and a passion for strategic storytelling. Description

Who we are: GhostRanch Communications is a creative agency of presentation designers specialized in strategic messaging and visual storytelling. We work closely with B2B product marketers, c-level executives, event teams, and founders. The clients we support are often tasked with creating critical messaging and visuals, then packing it up into high-value assets and tools to help their teams drive revenue. In many cases, our clients do not have access to an in-house team for dedicated presentation design and narrative support. They often lean on GhostRanch to be their partner in supporting those key communication opportunities, when the stakes are high and the deadlines are tight.

We're looking for: a seasoned visual storyteller with killer design instincts and a passion for strategic storytelling. Big idea thinker who isn't above rolling his or her sleeves up to sweat out the production details right down to the last click — often directly in PowerPoint or Google Slides, and typically under a tight deadline.

Right candidate will start on a 3 month contract basis, with potential for full-time.

Because we're fully remote, crystal clear written and verbal communication skills are as important to our work as the work itself.

What else are we looking for? Well, these things:

  • An incredible communicator — Written and verbal communication comes easily to you, keeping your team and clients up to date on each and every project. Presents design work professionally and effectively.
  • Self-motivated — You will own many projects from end to end, leading many directly with clients. The right candidate is pro-active, never needing to be nudged to take the next move in moving a project forward, anticipates client feedback and works ahead accordingly.
  • Responsive — Quick, written and verbal communication a must. Never allows a feeling of "radio silence," closing all client communications quickly.
  • Loves to collaborate — even though we are remote we are anything but siloed! You will work with other designers regularly, and collaboration at GhostRanch also means taking our clients ideas to heart — helping them see their napkin sketches come to life!!!
  • Efficient — You are able to hit the ask with little thrashing, often with nothing but praise from the clients upon first review. Prolific in coming up with new looks, but can also comply beautifully with a larger brand’s standards. Able to conduct live working sessions, even with clients and teammates watching your screen as you put rough ideas together for quick buy-in.
  • Great listener — "Holy cow you read my mind!!!" That's how we know if you are truly asking the right questions and taking those responses to heart. Putting yourself in a client's shoes helps you make sure we are solving their real problems. We’ll not only rely on you to catch every detail the client requests, but to also think of the question NOT being asked, and then translate those details in a dynamic, interesting, visual way and deliver a top shelf design that doesn’t feel like "just another PowerPoint."
  • Scrappy & resourceful — You're a problem solver who can get started on a project, pushing things forward even when we don't have all of the assets or information.
  • Versatility — You’re a problem solver, just as eager to crack open brand new design programs like Figma or Midjourney as you are motivated to continue mastering your bread and butter PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Adobe suite programs. Yes you’re a designer first, but you’re not afraid of taking a crack at consolidating content should a client need help paring things down on a slide, or across an entire deck. Success for our clients can mean any combination of typography, infographics, icons, photography, or even illustration to keep the layouts fresh, the hierarchy crisp, and the story flowing across any number of B2B assets ranging from presentations to infographics, ebooks, whitepapers, and beyond.
  • Team oriented. Highly responsive. Self-driven. Enjoys working directly with key stakeholders and collaborating right there on the Zoom share. Hard skills. Soft skills. A quick study with high EQ. Passion for storytelling, infographics, data visualization, motion, and, most importantly, presentation design.
  • "Have PPT will travel" — Ideal candidate will be open to some travel to support onsite design needs at client events and conferences during our event seasons (heaviest Spring and Fall)
  • Pace under pressure and a “can-do” attitude will set you up for success here!

We’re not gonna lie, as a Presentation Designer at GhostRanch, a lot will be expected of you. But we do think the right person will find the opportunities deeply rewarding. Ideally, you've got about 3-5 years working as a pure-bred designer, but hey, if you're some hot shot rising star, please send us your work.

How to apply:  If all of the above hasn't scared you off, we would love to see some samples!!! Strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative work and problem solving skills. Presentations sure, but any print or layout samples showcasing how you can provide great hierarchy to a bunch of dense information would be very telling. B2B work? Yes please! Truly appreciate your interest and look forward to meeting you!
