Senior Accountant  (Full-Time)

We provide architecture and interior design services from thriving offices in Boulder, Charlotte, Dallas, Irvine, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Sacramento, Seattle, and San Francisco. 

Boulder Associates is looking for a Senior Accountant. You will manage a portfolio of your own projects while also assisting others. In addition to the project lifecycle work, this position will have other accounting duties which include journal entries, reconciliations, and other responsibilities as needed. This position will report to the CFO and controller but also work closely with project managers and office directors throughout the firm, allowing you to be involved in the architecture world. This senior-level position will be key to mentoring and training the accounting team as well as project coordinators. To succeed in this role, you must have strong accounting knowledge, a desire to mentor, and internal drive.

Job Duties:

* Assist in the financial statement review and analysis.

* Ensure that revenue is being recorded timely and accurately.  

* Conduct account reconciliations as necessary.

* Work closely with the controller and CFO to help manage the accuracy and productivity of the day-to-day activities for the accounting team. Areas include accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and project lifecycle management.

* Responsible for lifecycle project accounting which consists of recording contracts, setting up and confirming the billing terms, generating monthly invoices, and closing out the project, for all assigned projects.

* Work closely with project managers to appropriately manage the finances of their projects. This includes helping manage their project plans, assisting them with billing, and attending regularly scheduled project review meetings.

* Mentor and train other members of the accounting team and project coordinators.  

* Provide necessary review for accuracy and completeness throughout the department.

* Respond to requests from clients, project managers, and other individuals within the firm in a timely fashion.

* Support the implementation, maintenance, and execution of financial controls.

* Assist in identifying and executing plans for areas of improvement throughout the department.

* Additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

* Strong working knowledge of accounting 

* 5+ years of accounting/financial experience

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience

* Excellent project management and organization skills: self-directed and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple projects and adhering to various deadlines

* Professional services experience preferred

* Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint experience preferred

Physical requirements needed to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation: 

* Ability to operate a keyboard, mouse, phone and perform repetitive motion (keyboard); writing (notetaking); reading and analyzing written material

* Ability to sit for long periods; stand, sit, reach, bend, lift up to thirty (30) lbs

* Ability to express or exchange ideas to impart information to the public and internal employees and to convey detailed instructions accurately and quickly

The MINIMUM salary for this exempt position is equivalent to an annual salary of $80,000, depending on experience.
