Responsibilities
This is a remote position for the Mountain Region.
Reporting to the System Director of Prospect Development and Research, the Prospect Development Analyst works as a strategic partner with foundations in regional markets. This position works closely with frontline major gift fundraisers and Chief Philanthropy Officers to build prospect portfolios and pipelines, supports the implementation of a comprehensive major gifts moves management process, and provides guidance in managing prospects.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Builds fundraiser pipelines via segmentation and analysis of large pools of potential prospects, including grateful patients, donors, and external prospects.
- Analyzes pipeline composition and provides recommendations for adding and removing prospects in different stages of the cultivation cycle.
- Tracks the movement of suspects identified by the prospect development and research team through the cultivation cycle and provides reporting on KPIs such as: number of suspects qualified and assigned to fundraisers; number of suspects disqualified; number of suspects cultivated and solicited during a fiscal year; amount of major gifts from identified suspects during a rolling 12-18 month period
- Supports fundraisers on entering data for moves management, such as prospect coding and assignment, and entry of opportunities/solicitations into Blackbaud CRM.
- Provides regular quality checks to ensure the accuracy and completion of moves, plans, opportunities, and prospect assignments within Blackbaud CRM.
- Utilizes best practices on statistical analysis, dashboard reporting, and data visualization for moves management.
- Leads moves management meetings for the market region in coordination with regional CPOs.
- Works with fundraisers for goal setting and forecasting.
- Stays current on local hospital and system-wide activities, events, and achievements. Identifies innovative opportunities for prospect involvement and cultivation.
- Participates in continuing education to enhance and increase fundraising skills, maintains awareness of changes in philanthropy patterns.
- Reviews trends in prospect analytics, data mining, and moves management.
- Adheres to ethical standards and best practices established by the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA), the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP).

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required; however, equivalent years of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum five (5) years of non-profit philanthropic work experience required.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
- Functional working experience with relational or fundraising databases (Blackbaud’s CRM or Raiser’s Edge preferred).
- Proficiency with querying, exporting data, and data reporting from fundraising databases.
- Familiarity with major gift fundraising processes.
- Demonstrated advanced writing skills that produce clear, accurate, and detailed communications.
- Strong project and planning skills, demonstrating detail orientation, timeliness, and ability to work under pressure while managing multiple projects at once.
