A minimum of three years progressively responsible experience as a senior/lead planning official in a governmental setting; or equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities; and one year of supervisory and managerial experience. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in urban planning or relevant field of study. A Master’s degree is preferred, and a master’s degree in urban planning or closely related field may be substituted for the required bachelor’s degree or minimum years of experience as a planning official.  Experience and proficiency with GIS and floodplain management is highly preferred.
